I would hope that its in ladder order top teams up and bottom teams down, would cut out all the drama and would give lower teams something to play 4 later in the year, i don't see why you couldn't have your 1sts in div 1 and if your 2nds finish bottom they go down to div2 and so on through all the grades.Does anyone know if GWC&FC have been excepted in2 the BPCA?
Also a couple more transfers:
*Ebourne from corio bay to coach newcomb bulls
*Damien Biemens from newcomb bulls to Wallington
*im not 100% on this one, sean braniff from ocean grove back to st albans

should be exactly like that, would make the end of the season alot more interesting and give all players something to play for.
but with the current GCA Committee anything could happen.

just think they need to have a set structure set in place and stick to it.
like this season, how close must it have been between manifold and geelong city to go back to div2, even guild to div3 is a bit harsh, spec when they played in the div2 gf.

need to start looking at the teams and not the clubs, like as you said before with the 1st could be div 1 and the 2nds could be div 2, seems to work quite well in english cricket.

yer all the overseas players generally dont understand why we dont do it in our leagues.

as for geelong city and manifold, city were never going to not play division one whilst agg is president of gca, what a w*nker

Yeah i agree with you about agg don't see it fair that someone associated with a club, like agg should be the president of the league
how could he not be bias to city?

It will do Guild the world of good. They are all over the place. Had no idea on what they were doing with water tanks last year almost half way through and still had no ground. Have no junior program and aside from their 1sts are not competitive in the other grades. Bold decision by the GCA but I would have dropped them before Murgheboluc. Murghe are well run, have a great junior program and have good support. Just need turf and rooms extension. Manifold addressed the GCA AGM to allow them to stay in Div 1. Watch this space.

manifold have addressed the gca and have come up with a plan for 13 teams in div 1 ( manifold to be the 13th ) and to have 1 game played every sunday. each team to play 1 sunday each. gca are very keen on the idea. guild would then come back up to div 2.

seems a stupid idea to be keen on, manifold should just take the hit and get back to playing cricket and if theyre good enough they be back in a year, if not it was the right decision.

I still cannot believe City stayed up, its an outcry.
When will the GCA committe stand up to Agg?

In all fairness to Agg, there are about 12 people on the management committee and he does only have one vote. I reckon the bigger news is Graeme Scannell being voted out. Obviously paying the price for last season's finals fiasco with grounds and East just being a walk up start for the GF every season.

that is big news.
but its about time i say.
we need to move on and make this a proper league,
with all teams represented and not just the power houses of geelong cricket.

i know what your saying about agg but if he wasnt the president would manifold still be in division one?

I would think there would have to be some sort of transparency with the assessment criteria. I mean good on Manifold for getting back up into Div 1 but they weren't exactly setting the world on fire in Div 2 before they went up. Tne year before they were promoted they had no sides in grand finals but obviously doing a few things right off the field. It is unfortunate that they only lasted one season up but if that's the way the points work out then so be it. The most important thing is that the GCA has addressed the imbalance in the structure and in particular in Div 2. It hardly gets you prepared to get back into Div 1 to play against the likes of East Belmont, Grovedale, etc when you play Little River one week, then GWSC, then Bell Park. To their credit, the GCA took the chance to fix Div 2 and from next season it should be a good grounding to prepare clubs for an assault on Div 1. Manifold should just get on with things and get back to Div 2, address the areas that need to be improved and go from there.

not sure if he'll plays one's, if he gave it a 100% he'd play in any teams ones. he's a pea heart tho so i'd have 2 say no

I've seen Sean Bogan play a few games for Grovedale and the kid can bowl.Bringbackwarney it sounds 2 me there is a touch of jealously in your words.
