time to layoff the big guy. He showed today what he can do when he is on key. A big hat trick to finish off the game was just what was needed. No denying he has talent. Nice ball to finish off right arm express with his hat trick delivery. Looked like it could have been heading for a draw until Ando's final spell. Well done Big Guy, you let your actions do the talking.

brilliant win today by the mighty bears,gettin a reverse outright against north shore. marshall resumed today at 3-112 in pursuit of the seagulls 158. the bears got rolled for 140. north shores 2nd innings on a pretty ordinary deck saw them get bowled out for a paltry total of 64 leaving the bears with a chase of 83 for victory. doing things easily is a term not normally used for marshall and so it proved with the bears getting home with just 2 wickets in hand

hmmm, maybe lions den and cheetahs2008 are twins, doubt we will hear from lions den for a while now. well done to ando on the hat trick. what a way to stick it up a real smart arse.

hold on a second... yes i was there all day.... and marshall choked big time.. but fought bakk well and got the reverse outright comfortably.... but stilll.......ordinary deck.... how many better decks are u blokes gunna play on this year.. our boys busted our asses to get that deck that good for u blokes.. and u turn around and call it ordinary... geez you must be playing on an mcg kind of deck every week if thats the case

Just goes to show what can happen when a young bloke, who is in form, is nominated by his club to attend the trial, works hard and performs on the day. If other, perhaps better players were prepared to have their name put forward and attend the day, then maybe then the so-called better players would get in. If you think it is a joke that he gets in and has a crack and other 'better' players are sitting on their arses at home or doing whatever and couldn't be bothered drining the kms to trial then you are a little bit misguided. Country Week obviously suffers from the same problem.

PS. Illingworth was named as a fast bowler. Any other GCA fast bowlers who could feel aggrieved at the decision could possibly contact the VCCL?
