That sounds like a good idea. I have been told to install two to three additional ones in my home by December.

I have 3 all hard wired with battery back ups. They beep when the batteries need replacing which is a good idea.

Mine are battery-powered only but also beep. I hope not too often when no alarm is needed. Will see after I've activated them. I made sure they can be installed via a magnet since I don't want to drill holes into the ceiling.
