So, round one is finally upon us.

East Ivanhoe, Viewbank and West Heidelberg all to play in the top grade with North Heidelberg and West Ivanhoe in 2nd grade. Interesting season coming up I think, though one would imagine that the top five from last season will once again be there again and that the three mentioned above will struggle, particularly as none of them have star power in 11/12 unless they have stealthily recruited!

Have there been any major additions or losses at any of the clubs?

early predictions A GRADE PREMIERS :ROSANNA ...........B GRADE PREMIERS NTH HEIDELBERG

Unless they choke again, or one of their players punches a 17 year old, again.
choke is this coming from a team that choked that could not win a flag in jika after paying all the $$$$ and still got beat yet again last year ,a team of $$$$ hungry bastards ...at least at nth we have a bit of passion and love our club ,and the bloke that did do it totally regret's the day it was a moment of madness we all make mistakes

Run me through your logic kennel?

In a SEMI final, North got beaten by a team who's 1's didn't even make the finals? The stars for Edinburgh in that semi final were no players who had played multiple 1's games during that season.

Green, Harvey and Scannel are definitely 1's players at all clubs, but the rest are somewhere between 2's and 3's. I'd imagine that if you weren't bullying teams every week like you have for two years, then players would drop off rapidly and the club would be embarrassed.

In summary, North are no better than West Ivanhoe, and that went well this past season didn't it?
pretty shore we bowled west ivanhoe out for 94 and did it 1 for 96 still thinking where no better

NHCC getting a right royal spanking from Ednburgh's 2's at the halfway mark of the game between them. Even if Greeny somehow manages to bowl them to victory this weekend, the way they handle themselves when things get a bit tough will continue to be an embarrassment to them and the competition that refuses to come down hard on them.

Can you imagine Almatrah or Plumpton missing the first week of a game so they could go to the races?

Just wondering how North went yesterday hey?
Lost outright to a clubs 2nd XI
Only 6 players bothered to turn up
Club on the move - into recess...
And people bag us at the flats!!

Yep, an absolute embarrassment, which is sad because they have enough talent to win 2nd grade.

Fact of the matter is though, to be in 1st grade you need to have a team in 3rd grade, and if they can only get six blokes along for a 2nd grade game, what hope would they have of getting 22 blokes along every weekend for five or six months?

Heidelberg back on track and ready to have a tilt at a flag this year. Recruits proving there worth and are sure to the difference come finals.

Absolutely Berger, look like you have a good one there with Lasith, but worth remembering that you are playing Banyule and without O'Connor and McMurray (not bowling, anyway) they are really struggling. You just snuck across the line against the Burra (Brown getting run out for zilch was a terrific result for you guys!), and it's only a fortnight ago that Rosebank completely pillaged you, so not worth getting ahead of yourself just yet! But still, good signs, especially with the left armer bowling tightly.

Rumours starting to fly down at Dewinton. Something stirring after the weekend loss. Some finger pointing by one of the senior players followed by some critical words after some controversy against the burra. It's only November and the fireworks have begun.

I think the Berger is on to something, its not only the recruit of Fernando and young keeper Kamay, it's the young bowlers stepping up taking pressure off the usual noonans grindals and favrins. Rosebank certainly appear to be the team to beat with such a solid core group of players that perform week in week out, but an injury to sampion or plumpton would hurt. I think rosanna are in a strong position but when the skipper comes back it is surely going to cause some selection issues with Crawford and nikolovski the main players of concern, Edinburgh appears to have shaken the unenviable "5th finisher" tag by topping an exposed Rosanna, branigan, brown and low appear to be the key players that could take them to the elusive A grade flag. Without O'connor and McMurry early in the season the bears true depth has been exposed and look like finishing below the improved West Heidelberg and young East Ivanhoe

Big things happening at Beverly Rd. Pressure mounting on the club after such a poor start to the season. Questions are being asked of the captain and why he and his players are performing so badly. A couple of promising youngsters have left the club looking for greener pastures. The Bears which have promised so much seem to have lost their way and staring at relegation. Rumour has it that the skipper has been given till xmas for improvement otherwise faces the axe.
