Another question, If you have a 18 yr old fast bowler in your first class squad how do u train him, What i mean is you can choose different techniques for him to focus on, what should i train him on and for how long? I've been training his bowling technique as aggressive and and accuracy for a while now and he still goes for alot of runs in 4 day and one day matches, Am i training him wrongly?

Well, aggressive bowling will get you wickets but will cost your runs. How much is the kids salary? You can train him as much as possible until he is about 27-28 then you start training instead of working on technique.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

i signed him from the youth academy at the start of the year 2009, i payed 22,500 for him. Should i just continue to play him for the second X1? he has a good record for the seconds but i just don't know why he can't play good with the first team maybe im just not handling him right?

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

I had a guy like that too. I just presisted with him and he is now a permanent member of my XI. His debut was terrible but I stuck with him. Maybe just persist, it sounds like your doing it correct.

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

thanks for the advice, what county and international team u incharge of? Im in charge of warwickshire and Zimbabwe. My aim is to get Zimbabwe near the top of the ODI ratings, Lol i like taking incharge of weak teams and getting them to the top. At the start of the season i got a new overseas player, Shaun Marsh, I always play him whenver i can and he had a fabulous season in 4 day cricket. His average was 35 when i signed him now it's gone up to 44 with a couple of double hundreds. One thing i don't understand is why didin't the Australian cricket board select him from my county team as the ashes is going on in 2009? He has been in terrific form and scoring heaps of runs , Well this is one of the things i still don't understand lol.

Can u tell me about any of your players who you made great and they've gone on to play international cricket?

Re: International Cricket captain 2008

I took charge of Lancashire but found the English county quite boring. It was okay, but the international were better. I was 2nd, but only the regulars were playing international cricket (Flintoff etc.). I basically just play as Australia now.
