Lemon XI

Thought I'd put together my World XI for the most talented yet chronically injury-prone players of the last couple of decades. Obviously it was easier to find bowlers than batsmen.

Saeed Anwar
Michael Vaughan
Ramnaresh Sarwan
Andrew Flintoff
Jacob Oram
Shane Watson
(Struggling to find a wicketkeeper)
Tim May
Bruce Reid
Simon Jones
Shane Bond

Have a crack. I'm looking for very good players whose careers were significantly limited by injury. On those criteria, there are a few players who probably shouldnt be there (Anwar, Flintoff, Sarwan) - find me some batsmen to replace them.

Rep for anyone who can find a genuinely talented and injury-prone keeper from the last couple of decades. I can't think of a single one.

Moin Khan perhaps, missed a few games through injury towards the end of his career.

Yeah, I remember that. Pomersbach came in to replace him and had to wear his shirt. Confusing as hell. Hit a nice 15 from about 7 balls though.

Re: Lemon XI

dizzy gillespie did have a pretty bad run, but he played through quite a few of them off shortened run-ups with different actions. i wouldn't really call his career a flop though, although i think if given the chance he would have gotten a couple hundred more wickets :D.

ash nofke (as people are probably tired of hearing me say) has been injured everytime hes close to being picked. like rolling his ankle on a ball in training on tour in england in '05, right before he could have been picked as a result of dizzy and kaspas poor form, plus another hamstring injury and a back injury after golden seasons, especially the last one cause CA were looking for fast bowlers because of lee and clarks injuries. he got 1.5 times the wickets of siddle in that season, so i would have called him a chance.
