Mac Cricket

Anyone know or remember this game?

Anyone know where I can download it? I have Vista, so can I??

Any help would be great... its the best game ever.

Nah. This one was made in 1995 or something. Black and white, stick figures. Real simple, kept stats, was great fun.

It was called Mac Cricket.

Ohh, never heard of it.

That one i just posted a link to is one of the worst games i've ever seen.

I found the email of the original maker and emailed him and he sent me a copy.

But I have to go to work in 40 mins...

It is nothing to do with the links posted. This was a game from the late 80s/early 90s released by Achnear Systems, a NSW-based company.

One of the developers put the colour version up on the Mac Home of the Underdogs site for free, but unfortunately it has disappeared from there with the collapse of that site.

I managed to download it and have updated some of the teams and stats.

Sadly, it is still the most realistic and in-depth cricket game around, which is a terrible reflection on the lack of imagination and interest the developers today have for the game.

MacCricket is a game that should be voted the number one cricket game of all time. Not only for its stats and custom team editing abiltity but also for its forsight and fact that it is an underground cult game. Say no more.

I was addicted to it way back when macintoshes didn't even realise they where macs.

With Mac emulators for PC like Basilisk around, it's a shame there aren't more players of MacCricket these days. It is far superior to the other options.

I'm sure that if the game was easier to find, then more would play it.

Sorry to those who PM'd me and I didnt get back to them about me sending them the game - Have not been on BigCricket since last cricket season ended.

I hope everybody who wants it gets a copy from the Macintosh Garden while they can. It may not be around too much longer.

I'm working on 2009 teams and statistics, and will add them to that site if I get them done.
