Madrid Magic Captain Unhappy With Recent Performances
Madrid Magic Captain Dirk Kuyt was overheard saying 'cricket is a shit game and I don't want to play anymore' during the Magic's most recent T25 game.
It's been reported that Kuyt's comment was picked up by the stump microphone during a discussion with ToonArmy at the end of an over.
Caroline Wilson caught up with Dirk after the Magic's loss to the Kings and Dirk had this to say
"I'm not at all happy with the performance, the bowlers were atrocious."
Caroline asked if Dirk would be ringing the changes for the next match against the undefeated Geelong
"Of course I bloody will be. Breeno, ToonArmy, Edge, doggiesin08 and Quinzate1 those 5 players are in jeopardy. Diablo14 can come back in to play and Boncer34 is available if we need him. It's quite obvious that something needs to be done with the bowlers, The Wizz looks like he'll come back in to play, I might sit it out because I hate cricket".
Caroline quizzed Dirk on the performance of spinner Mousey
"It was shocking, what was he bowling? Powder puffs? He knows he's a lot better than that and I'm sure it wont happen again, but if it does, he better be prepared, we'll be setting the trap full of cheese and he could be in some trouble'.
Caroline then went on to ask Dirk whether or not the Magic could make the finals of the T25 comp
"Of course we can, although I cant say I really care at this point in time, we won our first game and have been absolutely belted in the last two matches, we have another home game in Round 4 and we need to win it to play finals".
Caroline posed the question to Dirk about the constant rumours of a pitch being prepared to help out the struggling Magic bowlers
"Well, it's logical, isn't it? The bowlers keep getting belted everywhere on the roads I've been instructing the curator to prepare. I had the confidence in the bowlers to defend whatever score the batsmen produced and well, it hasn't happened so far so at this point in time... a green-top is a very distinct possibility".
Caroline asks Dirk if he's really considering quitting the game of cricket.
"Well, I'm not going to stop playing and retire from cricket, but it's very possible that I may just select the sides for the remainder of the T25 tournament if my performance in the next match isn't up to scratch, I will hand the on-field captaincy over to ToonArmy, but as I said, I'll be selecting the sides and advising the curator on what pitch to prepare.
