Former champion Geelong footballer Gary Ablett today was granted a court order against a man under Victoria's stalking laws.

Two women have also been granted interim intervention orders with Ablett in Geelong Magistrates Court against the accused.

Ablett appeared in court and gave brief evidence about allegations that he outlined in a document handed to magistrate Kay Robertson.

After he told her the contents of the document were true and correct, she said she was satisfied an interim order should be granted.

Ms Robertson granted the orders to Ablett and one of the women under the stalking provisions in the Victorian Crimes Act.

The second woman is believed earlier to have applied for her order under the Crimes Family Violence Act.

Police, who were not part of today's hearing, will now serve the court orders on the respondent to the allegations.
Another hearing date will be listed for him to appear and contest or consent to the making of a full order being granted to Ablett and the women.
