Re: MMVCA General Cricket Chat 2009/10
Are we also going to change conditions when it comes to Grand Final. Lets have the pitched rolled and rolled and rolled so it totally changes they way we have played all year. We spend all year playing to find out who are the best two teams and then totally change he conditions to which we play.
Any thoughts, we have played in the last three grand finals and the wickets are totally different than the ones we play on week by week.

Monday & Tuesday they water and might cut the table.
Wednesday & Thursday cut a wicket and water.
Friday roll....
The Council are far too under staffed to produce any decent wickets with 3 crews doing around 16 turf wickets.
Clubs carnt cover there wickets on a Wednesday - Thursday night due to council curators apparently not having enough time to take covers off prepare a wicket then place them back.
Rolling a wicket for 10 minutes on a friday doesnt constitute a prepared wicket more work goes into a backyard wicket at chrissy time...
Things are never going to change unless clubs have the responsibility themselves.
If this comp is to improve, clubs need to be able to prepare their own wickets...
Its time for the association to address this issue..
