i was told that someone was actually hit. i was given a name, but that will stay with me.

I think thats the smart move mmvca, because I'm sure I know who it is as well. It will all come out in the wash.

All of sudden the comp has evened up dramatically.

it has worked out great for us. we get smashed outright, and we end up with the points.

what a weird week in the MMVCA!

I have not spoken to anyone at the club today, in fact all i have heard about the loss of West Coburg points has been on this thread. So my opinions are certainly not representative of the club.

What i don't understand is why West Coburg is punished through the silly actions of one of its players? Allegedly a player played for another club in round 1, isn't it that club that benefited from his services and not West Coburg? West Coburg receive absolutely no advantage from this situation, unlike the one involving St Andrews playing an un-registered player.

I would have thought it common sense the club that benefited from the performance of the player should lose points for the game. Also, the player should be internally reprimanded by the Club, but i do not understand the logic behind punishing the club for an act which in no way benefits them and is a consequence of an individual.

Re: mmvca

Ah good, old West Coburg ey.

Always putting the team ahead of the individual.

You'll have to get a few outrights now Tuska!!! Just when everything was going rosy and the newspaper articles were appearing it has all fallen in a heap down Shore Reserve way.

Spewin we might not be able to watch the big choke this season.

this is why you have registrations and clearances to stop players going around playing where they want, when they want. cricket is a team game,so the team/club is punished, not the individual. if this cricketer cared about his club he wouldn't do things like what has happened. also depending on the situation the other club involved might have to answer some questions reguarding rego and clearance

Re: mmvca

its a pretty big penalty to lose all your points, but i supopose they are the rules!! i heard they are going to appeal the decision.

I think you will find that the club he played for in rnd 1, prob wont have anything to answer to, ( unless they are in this comp ) as im pretty sure you dont need a clearance to jump from 1 comp to another between seasons. But to come back to our comp, ( or any comp ) after you have started the season elsewhere and without a clearance, is just asking for trouble.

And i dont for one second believe that no-one at West Coburg knew of this.

Why are you keeping it a secret??

As most people know who I am on this site, I won't name anybody because I'm not 100 per cent sure and only heard second hand. So I don't want to put anyone in.

Alcoa, have a think about it and come up with the most obvious name.

Re: mmvca

Such a lovely quiet week for the MMVCA. At least this forum has really taken off after a slow start last year. It's good to have that banter and info passed around. So I guess we look forward to what happens this weekend then???

Re: mmvca

Any scores guys?

Merlynston 6-267 (P.Gleisner 119no) v St Andrews:) :) :)
St Marys 330 v Barkly St Uniting
East Coburg 216 v West Coburg 1 for not many

Re: mmvca

Well I played in our two's this week due to my almost unavailability next week, against Socials (who had Danny Campbell in their team). We made 150ish and they are 4-40 ish I think at stumps. So pretty much 50-50.
