Money Shield 2013/2014

Really is shaping as a cracking season, at both ends of the ladder.
Days runs totals of 184 / 307 (Boro ganging up on NEW 2's) / 228 / 188 / 207 / 184 - beautiful batting conditions, maybe the balls are too dark to see against the wonderful pale blue skies!!!

Eltham doing it without Minney will be a feather and a confidence booster.
Lower / Banyule and Mont all in strong positions to win - maybe a case of some real easy wins after Xmas if Morang are 2 games and % behind.
Heid looking at a loss and then up against Boro before Xmas, could be a big drop.

Will be a good job by Eltham though Banyule are looking dangerous with 3 for not many overnight.

Lower have already got the points. If they can make it an outright, say goodnight to South Morang.

On behalf of most of the blokes on here xzibit i apologise for the garbage that troll puts on here. I certainly dont ask 4 it. I had ur blokes in 20/20 vs whittlesea a few weeks ago. Lots of laughs. 2nd game in money shorty and looking forward to opportunity
Hey Snowman, heard you go alright in the penguin suit! Squeak just wants to know what the goin rate for favorable decisions are?me hearing $10 for an LWB and run out and $15 for a caught behind??? If so what's your bsb and acc no.?
Squeak squeak

People have short memories. 3 weeks ago Eltham chased down 294 with Minney only getting 11. I have 100% confidence that the boys will get the job done.
Very short memories Tongs
If you can get through the first half hour without any damage you should win comfortably.

Just out of curiosity what's Banyules bowling like?

Great effort by Lower Plenty but have they let Morang back in the game by declaring straight away?
Personally would have batted on for 10 overs next week and getting 100 or so in front and backing yourself to bowl them out within the remaining 70 overs.

Game is back to each way bet and maybe Stewart and T.Groom can produce something special with bat and ball and give Morang a much needed come from behind win and huge confidence booster.

Yeah I'm thinking the same.

I would have at least batted the day out (another 7 overs) and then made a decision from there.

Possible they didn't want to lose any more wickets, but why not get 100 in front like you said and then have most of next week at them.

Might make the outright quicker, but if anything it has given Morang a sniff.

Yeah got me stumped
If and it's a big if,Banyule roll Eltham and Morang get a reverse Outright than Lower is still right in the battle for relegation.
By batting on they would have all but guaranteed their own survival at least!

Will be a very interesting days play

South Morang's bowling attack is so bad though... I can't see them reversing anything.

I also agree on the Lower Plenty situation. No disrespect, but they know they aren't world beaters, and should therefore have not left the door open ajar at all, and I can't help but think that instead of pushing Morang off a cliff, they've dangled the carrot in front of them and we'll see if they can take it.

As for Banyule's bowlers. I wasn't playing (I'm in the twos) but by all reports, they were reasonably solid. No superstars that will rip through sides week in, week out, but they get the job done. You have to be on your game, and whilst I think we'll get the 6 points, it's not going to be a walk in the park.

For what its worth, completely unbiased and with respect to boro and eltham (havent seen yet) stars have perfect team balance and now strong off field. Very hard to beat

How did that work out for you tongs?

Yep, got it wrong. Pretty disappointed to not get the points, but it's one slip up for the season. Well done to Banyule who have taken our scalp the last two years.

Judging by the fact you've scored under 50 runs in your last 5 hits, I'd suggest you're struggling more than we are.

About time the kids pushed old duds like myself out of the side, got away with being a specialist fielder for far too long! Spewing I missed the game would of been fun playing against two ex team mates in socca and gibbsy. We'll surprise a few more sides before the season is over, some good young kids in there. Would be nice if we can get our full side on the park at the one time though!

Good to see South Morang have a bit of a crack against Lower in the second dig judging by the scores . I'm thinking Lower might think twice before giving other teams a sniff if they get in that position again.

Having a look at the scores from the game it looks like Lower were the only ones having a crack. 64 overs to get 148 in front on a Lowers ground is not having a crack. Lower 0/74 off 9 overs is having a crack and from all reports lost a few wickets trying to get over the line. From what I hear the Groom's were involved in a bit of argie bargie during the game. Some things never change.

Huge loss for Eltham, could have big ramifications at the end of the year. Heidelberg given a reality check by Stars, interesting to see how they bounce back this weekend against Greensy. BU could be in with a sniff after this round however have a tough assignment against Monty.
