Money Shield 2013/2014

I'll back BU to win the next 2. Heid to beat SM, and ELTH to beat HEID. ELTH to lose to LS.

Which would make it
BU 46
HEID 42
ELTH 42

Heid to beat LP in the last round and loser of ELTH v BU to drop out.

A win to ELTH this week or an outright to BU over NEW would throw a spanner or two in the works.

Going to be a very close finish

I think BU will make it to

Full Toss I'm sure you know how Greensborough's bowling and fielding was since you were playing, sorry Captaining them. It always strikes me as odd when people talk about themselves as the third person. Normally comes from people who are a little insecure about things and waiting for there bubble to be burst or there hopes to be shattered again.
Interesting.

Apparently I must of done alright captaining, bowling changes and field placements?? That's if I was captain?

Their not there btw

Good one, you made giggle at that. Why all the hate. Let's just talk cricket.

Not sure how to make giggle.....is there a recipe??

Anyway back to the cricket and Greensborough have been rocked by injury to star bowler Dylan - no wait, I said star bowler - John Meekins. 21 wickets and averaging 25 with the bat....hard to replace??

What has he done?

Big loss if it's serious, if its short term they wont have an issue without him
It appears his season is over, he requires surgery on his groin from tearing his abductor muscle last weekend. Deff big shoes to fill in his absecne. But with the inclusion on josh Henkel back into the side this week the boys will have enough in the bowling stocks.

Your right apart from Scott from lalor stars, Meekins is the best bowler in the comp ATM. Unlike their neighbours up grimshaw street they don't rely on 1 or 2 guys to carry the work load. 3 guys averaging low teens and roughly 55 wickets between them confident they have enough to cover the loss of John. Plus the inclusion of Weerpurage just highlights how strong the greensborough attack still is!

Surely you jest.
Stop saying they and their!!! And start saying us and we.
Weerpurage is not a bowler in the true sense of the word, a bowler by definition is someone that has a straight arm at moment of commencement and completion of delivery action.
And I hear that it is split webbing in the hands for Meekins.

Spilt webbing happened while at work Tuesday. abductor last Saturday.

Has he been called? No! Will they call him? No! Why? Because he doesn't throw it!

Surely you jest.

But if we're going to go back on to the topic of chuckers... What's your opinion of Perera? Or didn't you play him seems as though your rotting away in the 2s these days.

No, perhaps in the old sense of the word. 15 degrees leeway to straighten your arm now. Although I must say its a nice change seeing FullToss say someone doesn't throw it.

Imagine how quick Dyl would be if he threw it. High 140s is my guess.

He does, his class really stands out despite his age and even though he hasn't set the world on fire this season.
lets be honest there is no true fast bowler running around in money these days, not one that could tear ya head off with ease, greensy attack would be lucky enough to get it above your shoulders without hitting themselves on the toes. Most off the bowlers in money would get spanked in barclay

Sort of off topic... but out of curiosity, who would be the quickest bowler to grace the DVCA in recent memory (e.g. last 20-odd years)

I'm only mid-20s, so I'm interested in some thoughts from some of you older blokes who have been around the traps for a while.

I never faced any of these three, but I've heard Mick Lewis, McGann, and McGinty all bowled decent wheels. Anyone else?

I faced mick lewis for only one over as an opener and he was extremely quick back 20 years ago.
Keays and steven seade were sharp as well back in their day.
From what I have heard , mcginty was the quickest of the lot. Cant comnent on mcgann as I never saw him bowl
