MPEG Video cameras

MPEG Video cameras

Looking around on youtube some of the video footage is pretty good quality. What do people use to record their videos? Don't bother to mention camera phones, there's no way on the planet that I'm ever going to buy phone with a camera, so you'll only be wasting your time and my time writing about what phone you've got. I want information on compact cameras that have a MPEG video function , preferably with a wide angle lens function that is equivalent to 35mm or 28mm lens on a real camera? Or if anyone knows about a video camera that shoots using MPEG files and not DV tape.

Re: MPEG Video cameras

I have seen people using similar kit to the one you posted and from what I've seen it gets reasonable results and would certainly be good enough for what I imagine you have in mind. I'm not sure about that exact model but I reckon a trip into your nearest Maplin (or camera shop) would be worth the time; just to have a look at the quality and functions of it (or similar).

This is the one my friend uses, does the job for him, not sure about the wide angle function though.
