Welcome to the First Annual BigCricket Fantasy Cup TwentyFive25 Tournament!!!
The tournament is just a week away, and this will be the place to come for anything to do with build-up, games, ladders, stats, and of course, general trash talking and sledging as well. This is the first season that a midseason TwentyFive25 has been held in the league, and it will hopefully provide a fun time for players and fans alike. The tournament will be held at the home field of last season's One-Day champions, The Indomitable Magpies. The all-star match will be held at The Kandy Bowl, home of Four-Day champion Kandy Lions.

Tournament Rules
1) Match Time
--(a)Matches will be played at the time listed (in Greenwich Mean Time) unless unforeseen circumstances prohibit, in which case the match will be played as soon as possible after the time listed.
--(b)A match thread will be posted for each match at least 24 hours before that match is to begin.
2) Pitches
--(a)Several pitches have been prepared by the curator, and are in various levels of development. The same pitch will be used in both matches to be played in a given day (with the exception of (c) below).
--(b)The tournament committee will choose which pitch will be used for the following day's play before 23:59 GMT the previous day. There will also be a pitch report issued at that time.
--(c)One pitch will be designated a Championship Pitch, which will be used exclusively for the elimination and grand finals.
3) Submission of Teams
--(a)The captain, or any other representative, of a team may submit a team in the designated match thread at any point up to 15 minutes before a fixture. The last XI submitted by a team before that time will be the one played, except for a captain's submission, which will always take precedence.
--(b)For the first round only, teams must be submitted one hour before the beginning of the match.
--(c)Due to the rapid progression of this tournament, captains are not obliged to submit a team for every match. If no team is submitted, the previous team will be played, and there will be no point deduction or other penalty assessed.
--(d)Normal One-Day player restrictions are in effect:
-----(i)1 wicketkeeper must be selected
-----(ii)at least 1 all-rounder must be selected
-----(iii)violation of these restrictions will be deducted 1 point in the table, and a legal XI will be used
4) Tournament Format
--(a)The first phase of the tournament shall be a round-robin in which each team will play 3 matches, one against each other team
-----(i)2 points shall be awarded to the winner of a match
-----(ii)1 point shall be awarded to each team in a tied match
--(b)At the conclusion of the round-robin phase, the knockout phase will commence:
-----(i)The team with the most points in the standings will proceed immediately to the Grand Final
-----(ii)The teams ranked 2nd and 3rd in points will contest the elimination final, the winner of which will proceed to the Grand Final
-----(iii)The team ranked 4th in points will be eliminated
--(c)Tiebreaker formulae and matches will be used to break ties, but a team cannot be eliminated through a tiebreaker other than a match:
-----(i)Two teams tied for 1st: head-to-head play, NRR, TB Match
-----(ii)Three or four teams tied for 1st: total record in matches between tied teams, NRR, Series of TB Matches
-----(iii)Two teams tied for 2nd: no tiebreaker is necessary, play in EF
-----(iv)Three teams tied for 2nd: total record in matches between tied teams, NRR (to determine 2nd place team), followed by TB match to determine 3rd place team
-----(v)Two teams tied for 3rd: Tie-Breaking Match
5) Awards
--(a)There will be a MOTM award for every match played in the tournament.
--(b)At the conclusion of the tournament, the following individual awards will be presented:
-----(i)Outstanding Player of the Tournament (as selected by the tournament committee)
-----(ii)Most Valuable Player for each team (as selected by players)
-----(iii)Top Batsman (highest run-scoring average; min. 3 innings)
-----(iv)Top Bowler (lowest runs/wickets ratio; min 10 overs)
-----(v)Top All-Rounder (as selected by tournament committee)
-----(vi)Clutch Performance (as selected by tournament committee)
--(c)The BCFCL TwentyFive25 Championship Trophy will be presented to the captain of the winning team.
