Player of the month - May 2008

Qualifying period is for the month of May, so that's from the the 1st to the 31st.

All games count, but please say what the duration was (20/30/40/50 overs etc).

Rules can be found here, if there are any questions then please ask a team member or admin!

So let's begin - May 1st to 31st 2008 only please!

I'll start this off, lean month so far with the bat, so I'll ignore that for now.

Bowling wise, best is 4-0-14-3 in a twenty20 midweek game.

Not a very good month for batting, but in 20 over cricket i got the following bowling figures:
4-0-23-4
can supply proof if needed

Batting in a 40 overs game against Basel CC playing for the Swiss Under 17: 20* (38 balls)
Bowling in a 40 overs game against Cossonay CC playing for the Swiss Under 17: 8-2-24-4

Edit: Let me correct the bowling display the runs given away weren't 17 but 24. I can give you the site adress M_C if you wish...

A few games only this month.
T20 Batting figures:
33* off 23 balls. 2 fours (I played this one with 20-30 yr olds, but that won't considered, will it? :cry )
68* off 54 balls. 8 fours and 1 six (My age group 14-16)

T20 Bowling Figures:
3.4-0-26-3 (Not my age group again)
The other one's too bad, I wouldn't like to mention it here!

This won't count as they are not members but two of my U15 bowlers in the district cup semi final last week:

(4 3 6 5) and (2 1 1 4)

Needless to say, we won; bowling the opposition out in the 10th over!

They're hopeless, I'd do much better.

Nah seriously wow, bowling a team out in the 10th over in a district semi final is amazing!

Reminds me of playing school/junior cricket! Best I ever had was 6 for 3 off 4

My son's best ever [the one who likes to stop balls with his head] (1 1 0 3). He needed the rest of the match to recover :laugh:

This month hasn't been outstanding so far as it's been interrupted by exams meaning I havn't been training or playing regularly. There's still a match on Sunday though, so we'll see how that goes.

Best bowling this month: 3-0-10-1

It doesn't sound much but it was my debut for my club's adult 1st XI and we were only defending 47 so I didn't get a chance to bowl many overs at all. I came on first change and had Salman Butt's brother caught at midwicket, not bad for my first wicket at that level!!

Best bowling I've seen at school was 5 for 3 by one of our medium pacers (lots of dibble with occaisional dobble) against one of the local schools.

Well I dont bowl so i have none of those figures!

Batting so far

48 of 36 balls for the seconds with 2 catches and a run out and a stumping

45 of 42 for the 1St's with a run out

Competition for the month of May is now closed.​

Results will be announced in the next day or say. Due to low turnout we shall only be having one winner, who will be awarded with the custom user title of 'Player of the Month - May'.

After having a chat with the rest of the team, we are pleased to announce that we have decided to make shaazthegreat player of the month for May.

He'll be getting a special user title plus bragging rights!

So once again, congrats to shaazthegreat!
