Re: Results from Round 3

suprise suprise wesley got smashed, cant say i expected you to win though.. But never the less i thought you would put up a decent fight considering you did manage to beat a struggling Hailybury last week.

Well we played well and got a good win and are higher on the ladder than you now so bad luck, notice how i dont talk the talk until a walk the walk, take notice of that Wesley your all way too cocky and thats probably one of the reasons you dont win many games.

Well good luck against whoever the lucky opposition is next week.

Re: Results from Round 3

Scotch Defeated Caulfield with 2 balls to spare.
Scotches Jamie Mcmillan made a blistering 115 to bring up his first hundred in first XI cricket. Congrats champ.

Re: Results from round 4

What a game of cricket it was out at Scotch today. A well fought tussle and played in a good spirit. Caulfield won the toss and chose to bat first on a belta of a deck. Scotch eventually claimed the win with 2 balls left.

Scotch 8/210
(Macmillan 115, Mather 43)

def

Caulfield 9/208
(O'Sullivan 53, Astbury, Jayaweera and Verstoep all chimed in for a few, Collins and Muttdon 3 a piece for the home side)

Caulfield had a strong start to their innings being 1/about 40 at one stage. Debutante Scott Roberts bowled very good line early on and had the batsmen in trouble and provided us with the much needed breakthrough. Scotch clawed their way back in the end and took regular wickets in the last few overs which saw Caulfield at 9/208 at the change of innings. The Scotch innings started slowly with Caulfield bowling 6 maidens in a row followed by the prized scalp of birthday boy McMahon. Seb "The Panther" Mather and Jamie "Wonderboy" Macmillan put on a close to 100 run stand to put Scotch in an impressive position with 20 overs to go. After a collapse at the end Scotch ended up winning by running a 5 to come home with the 6 points. Sam "Is Don is good" Muttdon was the cult hero scoring the winning 5.
I have to say, Caulfield are a good team and good blokes to go with. They were unlucky not to have a win today but they definately have the basis of what seems to be a successful team for next year and years to come. Particularly impressive was Handel with the new aggot and Breen's left arm offies.

Re: Results from round 4

Fair assessment there Pushfatwo. CGS lost it in the middle stages of the Scotch innings, bowling too short and allowing McMillan to really get on top of us. Both sides had the fumbles, with Scotch dropping 7 and CGS 5, so it was not a good fielding display by either team.
Great knock from McMillan, although dropped early he really dug in and batted well, same with Mather. Difficult game for CGS but we are confident of bouncing back and knocking off Carey next week.

Re: Results from round 3

Macmillan is an absolute star with 112 off 120ish balls single handedly winning the game for scotch...first aps tonne well done mate

nah, bud, skevs were ******** an we beat them on any other ground, the pitch was just a peice of crap, was movin sideways. the opening bowlers were basically bowling fast leg spin, unplayable and i dont think many teams in the aps would reach 116 on that, decent effort thanks to tobster. we got G-long dunno which one

Fair enough mate, im not a fan of playing on that pitch either, id probably use that as an excuse to if we lost, which we wont;)

So geelong, both are pretty similar, no depth no quality cept for a few players, so should be hard for wesley to loose id say. But good work beating Haily im being serious here, they are probably the bench mark of the bottom for sides in the comp, good work

Let me explain something to you, you dont cover your wicket and its rains alot, the wicket then dries on the top and looks gd to play on so wesley win the toss and chose to bat, but under the dry top surface is just soft mud so the ball moves around alot for the first 40 overs of the wesley innings and then the wind and sun dry the wicket out somemore making it easier to bat on and wesley hit a few blows at the end to reach 116. Then wen skevs bat the wicket is playin much better and most of the seam movement is gone (your guys still played and missed a ******** loads of straight balls still tho) so anyway basically you knock the runs off. THis game was won or lost in the toss and wesley misread the pitch and made a bad choice and we accept that, but thats cricket.

Clearly you've got no concept of cricket. the Pitches dry out and it is easier to bat, Much easier. It was unplayable in the morning. You just had to bowl it on the pitch and you were garanteed a wicket if the batsmen was good enough to hit it. Your bowlers were pritty happy with your efforts but in all honesty, you guys didnt get wickets the pitch did.

Yeah the Don is my hero now too, but he still isn't quite as good as dal. Let's not forget who ran the 5 with Donny. He sure was a supreme athlete.
