Rodent rages
Madrid Magic captain Mousey has blasted his team after their disgraceful performance in Nairobi this week. Mousey failed to appear at the press conference after the game until a full two hours after the scheduled time as he ripped into his fellow players.
"Some may say it is unnecessary and unwarranted, or that I am not in a position to do such a thing, but I'm sick of half arsed performances. It seems we have gotten too cocky. What first began as a tongue-in-cheek joke between Breeno and myself has erupted into an air of cockiness. True, we won our first 4 games of the season, but that is no reason to think ourselves good enough to take that type of attitude into a First Class match. Any chance we had to win, which was quite high, was gone as soon as we hit the pitch with that attitude. It was disgraceful," Mousey said without prompt.
Madrid Magic captain Mousey hits one of his 7 fours as he attempts to keep the Magic in the game with a brilliant 40. His attempts would prove worthless though as the Magic were beaten by an innings and 43 runs.
"I tried my hardest, as did Breeno, who didn't reap the results with the bat, but was like dynamite in the field," Mousey told the media.
"We blame ourselves, of course," Mousey answered to the question of who is to blame. "We bought this into the club, now we must get rid of it. We are not the BCFCL gods. We could blame Edge, but club jokes are no longer existant at the Magic until we improve our on field performance."
The Madrid Magic will now have a small break until they take on the Western Wizards at home.
"The match is extremely important. The Wizards are on the improve after a slow start to the season and will probably go in favourites after our last two outings," Breeno stated. "I think we'll have to have a long look at the selection table this weekend and see what the best course of action is, because this now obviously isn't the best."
Mousey and Breeno are currently at the BCFCL Tribunal fighting fines for their late appearance to the press conference. "Hopefully common sense prevails," was all Mousey told us as he entered the BCFCL Headquaters.
