Thieving Scum!

Working in an E-tailer i see fraudulent transactions everyday, people trying to gain goods by using other peoples cards! Horrible business and we do our best to deter and capture or report them.

But i was upgrading my iphone this morning, and checked my bank account online only to notice that i was £793 overdrawn. Strange i though seeing as i only got paid on the 28th and although i do have a few direct debits i was definitely in credit before the weekend by some way!

so i rang Barclays and asked why i was over drawn, (my overdraft is only £50) to my surprise she said it was becuase i had bought flights on friday? so i asked her where i was going. knowing that i had not?

so some one had spent over a grand on my debit account. Swines. worse still Barclays cant cancel it till tomorrow although they have cancelled my card rendering me money less for a few days!

i'm not happy!

Not good. A friend had something similar happen to him, they spent well over a £1000 in Argos on paddling pools.

Luckily, the bank sorted it out and he got the money back but it's frustrating waiting for it to get sorted.

Re: Thieving Scum!

man that sucks...guess this identity theft stuff happens everywhere - not just the US. I've recently gotten a Visa credit card that I use for all my online/big purchases. It gives me at least some protection because if someone were to steal it, it's the credit card company that is getting robbed, not my personal account.

That said, this can happen to anyone so you just have to be careful
