What a joke

What a joke our attack is.
We don't have any strike bowlers who are able to put real fear into the batsmen. When Froggy Thompson, DK Lilley or Big Merv Hughes steamed in, bloody well watch out and the batsmen knew it. Now that big target Morkel stands there like he's playing bloody Sunday social cricket and nobody is having a go at him, no sting, no aggro just tiggy touch wood stuff, lets all be mates stuff. The West Indian fast bowlers put the fear of god into batsmen. Where are the hard men?, pretty boys now who pose for calendars, jeez what a laugh.

Disgusted

Re: What a joke

You can't be serious. It isn't that bad. When Johnson is taking his 5/2's and Siddle he's 5 wicket hauls..

Re: What a joke

They bowled well today. :)

Morkel dug in but Siddle eventually got him, then cleaned up.

I like Siddle, hes a tough customer.

He is aggressive, which is good. So is Bollinger.

Exactly my point, Morkel dug in because he was allowed to dig in, in fact he dug in for 171 minutes and 40 valuable runs. The guy can't bat, he simply digs in and occupies the crease, they allowed him to get comfortable as usual and he never once looked worried because they didn't attack him. When Siddle finally got a little bit aggressive with Boucher he blew him out with a few balls, but only after he got nearly a hundred, why didn't they show the same aggression all day?

Being aggressive and being a dangerous fast strike bowler are two different things

I am serious, pedestrian bowling was what 90% of today was about.

Re: What a joke

I can see both sides to this arguement.

Although I think the attack is over rated and under rated at times.

Terrifc Mitchel Johnson took a lot of wickets at perth and at the mcg he was hit for 2 - 127 an the first innings. I think his 5-2 was half fluke half luck TBH.

And Siddle is very patchy his 5 for was cleaning uo the tale mainly so I didn't rate his bowling perforfmance all that highly but was probably the best bowler for the Australians today.

Re: What a joke

we are now back with the rest of the world, no longer going to dominate. but take two of the worlds best ever out of any side and that will happen. no mcgrath and warne, and since thats what most of us on here have grown up with and got used to we are now in shock. i think its good for world cricket to have australia have to work hard for wins from now on. i would stick with siddle, johnson and ruggy bollinger long term, throw in hilfenhaus and thats your aussie attack for the future. still need a good spinner though, and thats still hard to find, there will not be a nother warne for a long time.

But after having Warne the spin position standards have been very high.

A "good" spinner is someone like Harbhajan not Warne.

Warne is a "Great".
