what age did you make the first team at ?

i myself am deffintly not ready for are first team and will not be untill im maybe 18 but i was wondering at what age did you all make your clubs first x11 ? the reason is ive become inspired after watching the final of the hamer cup at greenmount today and realy want to try and make the firsts as soon as possible even though they are a very strong side even at first level they win alot

I'm 17 now and I made my debut for the 1st XI this year. I've played 2 games so far and I've only really been in when the senior bowlers have been unavailable. Hopefully next year I'll get a consistent place in the side.

First Year of cricket in the U15s i played 3 games for the colts team, next year i played every colt game and a few 3rd team games, then in the U16 i played 2nd team and i open the bowling and im still in the 2nds at 16, hoping to move into firsts next year.

Made my debut in the 1sts when i was 17.

Only played 3 games, 2 OD games and a T20.

This season i've played 7x4 day games, 5 OD games and played out the wholes of the T20 competition, due to our All-round Offspinner injuring his wrist.

It certainly is a differnt story in the 1sts. I average 30 with the ball, and 23-ish with the bat. As appose to low 20's with the ball, high 30's with the bat.

What side of town are you on, Jonesy? What team?

Ah, I made mine at 15; but that's a little flattering. Ours was a new club back then with one seniors team, so our firsts were effectively playing association fourths. 16/ 17 when I started playing association firsts though (still not the greatest grade ever).

Yeh, its only 6 games :)

Played over 3 hours 5-8PM. Obviously a lot of draws, but it isn't an official sanctioned league in the 3rds. I've played a 4-day game in the 1sts and thats generally 11-6 over 4 days, as our 1sts get paid.

ah, I'm a westy, out sunshine/melton/hoppers croossing way.

ex girlfriend lived up your way though, that was a huge drainer on my wallet in petrol, haha.

guess its a bit different nowadays, we encourage our colts and younger palyers in the 2nds to play firsts, and also there are occasions where we are ridiculously short of players and need them to step up!
