My old Dad had his hip shattered in WWII as a submariner officer in the North Atlantic but was denied Penicillin as it was being saved for D day. The infection went into his spine deteriorating over his life leaving him in a wheelchair in his dottage. He was nearly 92 when he died! Good Saxon genes!
