i disagree as ther are loads of flat decks around (except skevs) and teams as we now enter the 4th round should be lookin to rack up some big runs especially if a couple of batsmen get set. Cause from what i hav seen from scores so far there hav been alot of low scorin games which isnt interestin cricket!!

Carey are a chance this week against caulfield (wheellers Hill) batting on a very fast outfield with a pitch like the hume highway ive herd. Also have a lot of depth in their batting right down to number 10.

thats not true they only go down to number 9. parker doesnt count.

Some kids need to know that playing Dowling or any other junior comp is ultimately irrelevant. Yes it is a feeder program to the Vic 13's, 15's, 17's and 19's (which as a percentage doesn't involve that many kids in comparison to how many actually participate in these comps) but at the end of the day, anybody can play Premier 1s (or any other high level of cricket for that matter) if they are good enough regardless of whether they are good at the age of 14 or 15. It's not where you are at the age of 15 or 16, but where you are when you are in your mid to late 20's and early 30's. All kids have different stages of development and mature at different times in their careers. Dowling and all other regionally selected comps are sometimes political and rarely get the team 100% correct. Dowling used to mean a lot to an aspiring kids cricketing career back in the day when it used to be run by the premier clubs, but now due to cricket victoria reshuffled tournament, the comp has risen in standard but conversely been tougher for premier clubs to lure talent to their club and seen potentially good kids miss out. Get off your high horse pal. Don't take any notice GB.

Very unlikely for teams to make 300s in one dayers at that level. From memory, in the long history of the APS I think it's only happened twice with Xavs and I think the other one was Scotch.
