Shayne is the captain, and Trent is playing because he's not so lazy this year haha.

You would have liked both of them to have played in last years side I would assume

definately........trent trained but as you say wasnt really interested.........

can only be good for them..........

i think glenn robson is coaching them this year............

how would i know? i didn't play there that weekend. did you?

The wicket wasn't at all great, but i'm sure your wicket on the weekend wasn't exactly a picture of perfection

Our wicket was fine, only delay on our start was run ups a bit sticky, then it hailed so we called it quits. Gellibrand were not interested at all, for a side that is 4th and chasing 200 on a fast outfield, they rocked up and didnt want to even look at the wicket. pretty soft we thought.

also, did i see another mention about GU and how they'll be back after xmas and in the 4 and for teams to look out??? the only good thing about the rain saturday was them missing out on the max points. if lavo beat them this week and the other teams in the 4 manage a win, are they gone?

I don’t think that last post was about GU being back after xmas or sides to look out for GU.. What was said was, ‘if’ GU scrapes in to the four, which one would think would be a battle now, you wouldn’t want to cop them in the first final…

Come on mate, seems like you only care about seeing GU failing.. Maybe concentrate on your own game and stop being so envious of the success GU have had. Have they scarred you that bad??

That game ended up going just past tea, they had ANA at 3/ 147 in the second dig, with the A's having a overall lead of 88 and would of been a interesting game with a declaration looming at the time if the game went to full time and with the wicket being sticky muddy deck.

GU very keen to play obviously, going off 4 or 5 times during the course of the day, but couldnt snag wickets. imagine reverse outright happend....

Agreed Boofa.. Its a great thing for the comp that it has evened up and probably any one of seven sides could win it..
As for GU making the 4, they dont have ANA or Hoppers again so will need to keep winning.
However, if they do sneak in and finish fourth, the top side would be concerned.. There getting a few back now, and Chuggy is back after xmas!
Wyndhamvale look like the side to beat!! as long as they make 200+ in a final!

Agreed if they make the four good chance they'll make the granny with players starting to come back. They had two of their old crue back last game.

No never played there, but many of my teammates went across to West and had success, had plenty of beers there myself. Their success probably cost us a flag in the VJCA...

Probably speaking out of school, but I saw with my own eyes a paid player get dragged out and belted for supposedly nicking coin from behind the bar one night. Good player, good bloke, says it was a misunderstanding and that was what I was getting at.... $ + cricketers + piss = occasional trouble for which no one person is neccessarily reponsible for.

I have heard another brutal story out of West but will not dignify it with an airing because I only heard it second/third/fourth hand.

My point is, its not a West Newport thing, and its not a weapons thing.

Hey numb nuts you don't have to have a long neck to be a goose. I can count on one hand the number of times you have had a drink a West and certainly we do not belt our players paid or unpaid you must have your clubs mixed up! I remember you well telling me how good of a player you were when l used to drop into Altona North and have a drink, recruit your players and take your money on the card table. Ever wondered why we never approached you to come to West? It might have something to do with the scar on your chest where they took your heart out. I reckon you and ( Pop Gun ) Weapons would make a lovely couple as you would both sleep with the lights on.

How is he rated in this comp?

Rated very highly by most people.Won WDCA a-turf batting ave last year due to some big tons! Hasnt made a ton this year yet,but got 60odd last game!

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

I hope the rams get through it would be sad for a club who is one of the founding clubs of the WDCA

It would be a pity as they have had alot of success over the past 20 years with at least 4 A Grade premierships and regular finals appearances under Bunts & Dog and this was when the comp was alot stronger than it is now.

Just like to make a mention of a bloke in Wyndhamvale B Tuft team last round who walked for a stumping despite being given not out by square let. Top effort (also I'm from the other team).
