i have a few mates who will be there on Sunday, i'll also be there but can't play as i'm a year too old now. but there'll most likely be 3 to come down, maybe another. All from Wyndhamvale

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

Played Pointcook in Bturf on the weekend at their ground. Very good bowling attack. Picked up two brothers who bowl with plenty of fire from Richmond Union cc from the eastern comp. Should make the grandfinal this year easily, considering they made the semis last year.

They made 177, which l thought we were a chance to chase down. Got rolled, though made them bowl the 40 overs. Only made 7/68, some good signs with young 14 year old Daniel Nightingale showed he was a player of the future, batting for 20 overs at no 9 and was not out at the end. Kept great for first B turf game too.

In A turf, Whydamvale outplayed us, bowled well and we didnt show committment with the Bat. Though dont think we where disgraced for our first game. Should improve as the year goes on adjusting to the higher standard. We do have a good bowling attack with Nevzat Ismaili making a return this year, former A turf champion player in the old FCA, though the Batting we have bat the overs in this grade to be competitive.

Good luck for Rd 2

Hoppers Club CC vs. Grand United
Had a wash out after a 'leak' under the wicket. seems a bit suss to me

Willi Imps vs. Gellibrand
Gellibrand had a win to start off the season, with no-one making over 25 runs. Robson made 60 to steer Imps to 140 but still wasn't enough in the end

Laverton vs. Newport Rams
Laverton wins this with ease, winning by 8 wickets. Only King the stand alone batsman for Rams

Footscray ANA vs. Wyndhamvale
ANA were welcomed to the A Turf in style, with Wyndhamvale winning this game with relative ease. Bowling set up Wyndhamvale, taking 7/10 in the middle stages

Newport Digman vs. Willi Colts
Colts get on the board after beating Digman. Hanni Harb with his 48 outshadowed Ghazi in a battle of the captains

Interesting first round of cricket. Looking forward to the 2nd round

Seen M Frew & D Comonsoli played in B turf on the weekend for GU. I know A turf was a wash out, but does anyone know if GU has picked up new players this year?

i know they lost an opening bowler from the B Turf. Also Crea as you already know.
Haven't seen their selected side for the A Turf, so it's pretty hard to tell. Rumour had it that they'd picked up Matt Sheedy from Carlton, but I haven't heard anything else on that

Is he one of the opening bowlers? I faced him on the weekend, and to me he didn't seem all that good. Hopefully for you guys he's just warming into the season.

Yeah, his the taller opening baller, his just comming of a footy knee injury in the off season, missed 18months of cricket, should improve as the year goes on. Quality bowler when on fire.

Talked to our coach on sat night, said was told you guys have one of the Best bowling attacks in the comp? Do you rate any other sides in A turf with a good bowling line up?

we do have a decent bowling line up this year. I really couldn't tell you if the other teams have decent bowling lineups. 2 seasons ago i played with Wyndhamvale, and last year in the VTCA and now back at Wyndhamvale.
From what I can see, most teams have one or two half decent bowlers, compared to our 4 decent quicks

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

First win in A turf against Rams. Good confidence game, after being out classed by Wyndhamvale last round. Made 230+ and rolled out rams for 150 with extras 50! being their highest score for them. Seems the umps are very tough on anything towards the pads in onedayers this year automatic wide.

In B turf bowled out lavo for 109 and passed their score with 2 down. Good win for the boys after a caining last week against Point Cook.

Any one rate Willi Colts this year in A turf?
Seems Wynhamvale are the real deal rolling out Gellibrand and GU should be there abouts again even with the players they've lost. Looks like there will be several teams in A turf this year who could make the finals.

Did Willi Colts win yesterday? Surely they should have beaten Imps, who's bowling lineup isn't the best in the comp.
I seen the ANA result, but i think on Resultsvault the result is wrong? how'd you manage to get 10 points in a one dayer?

We made 165 against Gellibrand, and rolled them for 87, which was a good result for us, making it 2 from 2

who'd GU lose apart from Crea and Chuggy?

Note sure why ANA got 10 points, should be only 6.

Not sure on Willi Colts vs imps game, still no update on results vault.

In GU case, Not sure if Jury is playing, one of the madderns is playing in the twos and not sure if Strang is playing for them either. one of my mates had a quick look at them yesterday, said they werent no where near to last year standard. Lavo had 4 out in A turf against GU. GU has lost abit in the bowling department with no chug and no spinner. Any idea who Crea took with him? Even with the losses, l still think they will make finals.

Re: Williamstown and District Cricket Association (WADCA)

crea took a few werribee south guys and i think they r playing in the 1s which is a surprise, graeme brooks and lundberg, both who i dont consider as much, i had a look at gu on saturday and their spinners were bowling pies but were getting wickets, didnt see their batting though which is usually their strength, but in bowling department after frew and eddie maddern they had nothing

brooks and lundberg opened the batting yesterday for Centrals. both did alright in the one dayer, although slow. only made the 95 off 40 overs which isn't too good
Waters from GU went with him, left arm quick.

Get over yourself idiot. Must be the clubs fault they they dont control the where abouts of their under 21 players. You can only let them know. Not sure what you expect from the clubs, perhaps they should lock them in the clubrooms on a sat nights so they can be delivered to yo on sunday.
