For me it has to be Inzi, the amount of times he has saved Pakistan from deafeat is unbelievable. He's always cool under-pressure and just an amazing batsmen.

Best world batsman in past 12 months is clearly Mike Hussey.

Tough to argue with Hussey over the past 12 months.
That said, one great thing about getting all the teams together for the Champions Trophy is the chance to compare all the players against each other. They're all essentially facing the same competition on the same pitches. (Essentially. Obviously, it won't be exactly the same.) And the World Cup will provide an even bigger set of statistics to compare the top batsmen. It'll be nice to be able to add the Champions Trophy and World Cup stats together.

Champions Trophy stats so far:
top averages- Nafees, Chanderpaul, Atapattu, Gayle, Tharanga, Saqibul, Sangakkara, Jayasuriya, Lara
most runs- Tharanga, Nafees, Gayle, Saqibul, Sangakkara, Aftab

Obviously, Nafees is going home, while folks like Tharanga and Gayle will continue to score runs.
