Re: North A & B
ROY AND SELMA.
You both have fair minded views on the matter. But some of your posts contain cheap shots and non cricket related issues which will not be further tolerated from here on end.
Lets talk cricket.
Re: batting problem
touching on grosbys points, also take your time! You are in control in the middle and the bowler cant bowl til your ready. Take a few deep breaths, Look around at the gaps, do a couple of stretches. Just take your time.
When the bowler comes in, just focus your eyes on...
Re: Batting on cemented wicket
Id say the best way to get used to batting on matting is to feed tennis balls through throw downs or via a bowling machine.
I play 90% of my junior cricket on matting and it helped me a great deal to to cut and pull/hook. Coaches say you can play just about all...
Re: Back and Across?
Next time you have a net session at training, (if you don't already), take guard at centre to centre. Keep your head still and upright. Anything pitching outside of your eyeline, just leave it. If the bowler comes wide of the crease, you should be able to get in behind the...
Re: Problem with my bat lift
Try lifting your bat up when the bowl starts to get into his bowling stride. Look at AB De Villers for an example. He lifts it up early and plays his shots with ease. Same goes for Matthew Hayden.
Re: North A & B
Well being the second worst team in all of the north divisions and having a bit of a rough trot over the past few seasons is why I called them battlers.
No disrespect to the club. Rainer Reber is trying to get the club back to a dominant level such as in the mid 90s in...
Re: North A & B
I think it will be 3 to leave 10 clubs in North A and 10 in North B. If Kingsville come back in it may go down to 2 but if Seabrook collapses it may go to 4.
Thats why I believe nobody has been told.
Re: trouble batting
If you have a bowling machine available or Glenn McGrath try getting the ball pitched around the area and try playing forward or back to it. See what is most comfortable. They say it takes 1000 repetitions to perfect something so try to get it right by working out what...
Re: trouble batting
If you are square cutting the ball you may not be getting your front foot across far enough. (EG Plonking the front foot straight down the wicket when it should be pointing at wide mid off.)
Try getting some throwdowns or a bowling machine and just practise hitting...
Re: Best Arvo Tea VTCA
I might have to look for a transfer next season 7 fa! 8 of the best jam donuts went down a treat!
Pity the pres likes mouthing off from the boundary.
Re: trouble batting
Just touching on your points MC, I think it is also important to when playing the shot to keep your front elbow bent to a 45 degree angle (or there abouts depending) and to bring your hands through the shot.
Also using your top hand for power is a must. Too much bottom...
Re: Just a quick question
It probably depends on your stance and how you feel confortable. Just a quick note on those who tap the bat between their feet (Symonds, Hayden, Flintoff), they have much wider stances and thus making it more difficult to tap the bat behind their back foot.
