Xmas break-up review

The ladder is interesting but at the same time not surprizing. Top 3 are the who all expect to be there. The next 5 see KGG 4th with 4 wins and BP 8th with 2 wins. CLOSE battle for 4th.

GP - On top and no surprizes. Strong all round team, and will dissapointed they lost the last 2 going into xmas but we all know they'll return strong, and will be on the winners list very shortly.

PVC - 2 strong wins leading into xmas, xmas might have come at a bad time for them with a couple of them in form with bat and ball. Surely they will continue to win. Hare, Cummings and Gick yet to score many runs!!

TL - wont be happy to be 3rd, but in hinds sight they are a good win away from 1st (with a % boost). Interested to see if they filled there strongest team against Roxy, if there were players out or rested. Obvious contenders come the pointy end of there year!

KGG - The 2 day format for these guys worries me!.....If Viani can instill some patients into there game, with the win over SH, they are a chanve to finish 4th. For mine the 2day game seems a lil beyond them (batting).

SH - Will be disapointed with where they currently are. The injury to Hackney could have hurt them. Also interesting stat (sort of)...Apart from there openers and #3. The SH batting line up hasnt had a hit b4 this weekend against KGG since the SUNDAY game back in Middle of NOV!!!

CCC - The obvious improvers i did say a that had a good mix of a team and once they all got familiar with there roles they would show good signs and improve quickly. Fingers crossed they dont, but i could see them leveling out after xmas. (i know i put them as a smokey, but only if they can keep up there current form)

RP - Rabbel??....Not so sure, in theory they have got rid of the s*#t. cant make finals, but look for a good effort from these guys until the end of the year.

BP - Doesnt appear they can make finals, seem to be struggling in the bowling department. Good batsman in the shed, but they are feeling the pressure of some under par bowling efforts. Look for them to improve a few upsets, some big scores and ya just dont know!!!!!!

Who does everyone think have been the top 5 performed batsmen/bowlers for the year and who have been the improvers (Individuals) so far??

I will add my two bobs on this one, top 5 in order-

J Markham heads and shoulders above anyone else in the comp has gone out under 50 once and that was for 41.

P Tripp consistently making runs and has made good scores against us and Taylors

M Ingvorsen wouldnt have thought it at the start of the year has only made one score really but it was one hell of an innings

P Camilleri batted in the toughest spot opening all year 8 hits made under 20 only twice very consistent year by Cammers

S Lee there have been 3 guys who have made slightly more runs but he has held Tyalors together and has been very consistent

Bowlers

P Tripp best player in the comp at the minute has bowled 30 less overs than Thomo for 4 less wickets having a ripper first half and if he can keep it up and Hare can hit form Paccoe will be very hard to knock off

P Thomas having another solid year not as consistent as what we have come to expect but still bowling massive spells ans taking big bags

M Hassan definetly the pick up of the year very solid bowler who continues to impress

A Fackler has an average of 18 and considering he bowls on our 50 cent piece I think is a worthy selection

D Viani very crafty is old Dan for a guy who doesnt turn it takes massive wickets every year will proabably be rated as one of the best spinners to play in our comp when he hangs them up.

my 50 cents worth!

J.Markham (GP) best bat in the comp great year so far GP may rely on him a little to much and will be interesting if and when he fails, can GP make enough runs, shep has had a ordinary year by his lofty standards.
Wes going ok but not outstanding.
might seem a bit harsh but these 3 guys are the best 3 in the comp according to most JM the only one to stand up so far.

Ingvorson for CCC has had a good year so far with one big score and 3 or 4 40 odds,if he converts those 40's into 60 or 70's then he could finish right up there, probably the big improver for the year but the CCC faithfull tell me that this guy can bat and have been waiting for him to explode onto the scene.

P tripp great allround cricketer and all clubs would love to have him in their side, will continue into second half of the season, best cricketer in the comp!

W.carton is a few runs behind but this guy is one arrogant son of a bitch who can come in and change a game within a few overs, will have a big second half of the season, tread lightly with this guy give him an inch and he will take a mile!

M.McPherson having a solid year with the bat and could do with some help from a few others in the side, very consistent year and and the moment he is holding BP together, needs help from Hass and co who seem to be struggling.

bowlers are easy
Thomas
Hussan
Tripp
Fackler
Hayes.

Re: North West Cricket Association

What if Shep does fire?

At vthe mid point of the year Id like to see what people think will be the ladder positions at the end of the year.

Heres mine

GP- Hopefully we can continue to win more than we lose

PVCC- Having a great year and have players that can improve

TL-Still the team to beat, last game of the year against us could be for a home final should be a cracker

CCC- Play KGG in last game of the year winner of that will get 4th I think CCC are better in 2 day format

KGG- Will play finals if can beat CCC in last game.

SYD- depends on Hackney I think they will miss
BP- Cant see them winning more than 1 more, havent had a great year which is a shame
RP- fantastic win over Taylors but I think reality check will be given very soon no side can lose players of that calibre and expect to be competetive

GP will stay on top
PVCC maybe rely a little too much on P.Tripp?
TL not as strong and now beatable?
CCC 4th best side and could be a danger if they make finals
KGG rely on too few
SYD play their wicket well but will struggle aftex xmas
BP rely on too few also
RP will need to start again and stick with young guys

Mine are:

GP: Still the team to beat, very good all the way through need some of there very good players to improve their output for the business end of the season

PVCC: The biggest danger, P.Tripp best player in the comp. Needs other to offer more support

TL: Still a very very good side, Thomas,Lee,Markham very good can fall away a fair bit after that.

CCC: I agree with others i think CCC are the 4th best side in the competition especially at the 2 day version. Need to make sure they beat the teams they are expected to beat, but should finish 4th

KGG: Good 1 day side with some good aggressive batsmen, the question is do they have the patience and abitly to go the distance in the longer version? Rely to heavily on Rogo, DV and Catania

S/H: Rely on one player far to much, not much bite to their bowling attack will struggle to bowm sides out in 2 day games.

RP: Have some good young players, Killa right up there in the best player rankings! I think that they will also get foung wanting in the longer version that will be more draining on their young guys! I expect the top 4/5 sides to apply lots of pressure on the young bowlers to see if they can withstand it over 40 overs! A great win on the weekend but still conceided 246 in 40

BP: Cant see them really troubling anyone for the rest of the year, may beat RP but even then i think aprt from McPherson they are lacking that extra bit of class in their batting line up. Apart from Hayes their bowlers have no bite as seen in the results from the W/End CCC had no trouble reeling in the total 4 down with 5 overs to go!

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas see you all in 09!

Re: North West Cricket Association

Heres a look at the runs homes for each side, going to be a great finish to the season.

Pacco- syd, ccc, taylors, kealba, roxy (3 home games)-should win minimum 2 games but have 3 danger games in a row

sydenham- pacco, taylors, ccc, gladdy, buckley (1 home game)-mite be lucky to get 1 win in the last game but not certain.

Buckley- roxy, gladdy, kealba, taylors, syd (2 home games)should get wins against roxy and syd

roxy-buckley,kealba,gladdy,ccc,pacco (3 home games)could sneek a win but highly unlikely, even though beat taylors(got them on a off day)

kgg -gladdy,roxy,buckley,pacco,ccc (3 home games) - should get 2 definate wins but realy should get 4 wins to make the finals

gp - kealba, buckley, roxy, syd, taylors (2 home games) -got a pretty easy run for a couple weeks, kealba and taylors the danger games

tl - ccc, syd, pacco, buckley, gladdy (3 home games) -got a couple tough games in ccc, pacc, and gladdy, has to win atleast 2 of those games to make the finals

ccc - taylors, pacco, syd, roxy, kealba (3 home games) - got 3 tough games taylors pacco and kealba, should easilly account for syd and roxy.last game will decide there finals fate

I doubt whether pacco with Tripp in fine form will lose.. But appears to be set for a GP and PVCC GF.

I hear next season some new recruits and old players back to KGG - Trying to clean up their image with D V.. so should move up in the top 4

roxy-buckley,kealba,gladdy,ccc,pacco (3 home games)could sneek a win but highly unlikely, even though beat taylors(got them on a off day)

kgg -gladdy,roxy,buckley,pacco,ccc (3 home games) - should get 2 definate wins but realy should get 4 wins to make the finals

gp - kealba, buckley, roxy, syd, taylors (2 home games) -got a pretty easy run for a couple weeks, kealba and taylors the danger games

tl - ccc, syd, pacco, buckley, gladdy (3 home games) -got a couple tough games in ccc, pacc, and gladdy, has to win atleast 2 of those games to make the finals

ccc - taylors, pacco, syd, roxy, kealba (3 home games) - got 3 tough games taylors pacco and kealba, should easilly account for syd and roxy.last game will decide there finals fate

Re: North West Cricket Association

Thanks very much to Cricket Victoria for the free tickets to day 2 of Boxing Day test with free lunch piss and piss funny speech from Nick jewel.

Then top it off with Siddle dominating after lunch.

Re: North West Cricket Association

I doubt whether pacco with Tripp in fine form will lose.. But appears to be set for a GP and PVCC GF.

I hear next season some new recruits and old players back to KGG - Trying to clean up their image with D V.. so should move up in the top 4
