To be honest, I am not 100% sure that our wicket could be ready for tomorrow. But as I said in my earlier post, I am not specifically talking about this week or the first round in general. From memory, we have had a hard deck ready to go on multiple occassions over the last 5 years or so, only...
I agree its not fair. All I am saying is, its also not fair on the clubs/curators that do get playable wickets, and then told that you cannot play because other grounds are no good. Perhaps the clubs that do rely on councils will then have a solid argument to take to their council and ask the...
I agree. Lets not spoil the tables for the sake of 1 game. I know we are itching to get out there, but there needs to be common sense. What does irk me though, is when there are clubs that have rock hard wickets/tables and not are allowed to play because the VTCA call off a Sat. It is not right...
Haha, I started this crap.... please!!! You made a silly comment, but I started it??
Interesting to see Tocca at YC's pre season training. Talk of retirement is a bit premature I think. And Adam C looked as fit as I have seen him for a few seasons. He will be a handy inclusion, obviously.
I am pretty sure Sth played in the semi last year??? And even if you are talking about the year before, YC passed them 7 down..... Who is posting silly comments.... hmmm.... time to move on...
"which probably cost South the flag last year as he went through Yarraville earlier in the year"... And if Bernie Quinlan didnt miss rounds 5-8 in 1989, Fitzroy probably would've won the flag coz he kicked 8 against Hawthorn in rnd 2.... silly comment.
I dont get how some players can simply come and go..... they are like nomads. I certainly would not like to see a player at Spotty that has had, as you say, 5 clubs. I know when I said "12 clubs" it was inflated.... it was tongue in cheek. If you were in charge of recruiting for a VTCA club...
Exactly the reason why they should make it report to ground. Grief would be felt if a club needing to win gets a wicket up and can't play out the last day because the VTCA has called it off. Clubs who put time and effort into getting a wicket up should not be, pardon the pun, left high and dry...
N
Not sure about a massive hole??? Didnt exactly dominate... 159 @ 26.5 (with his high score of 56 in a 2nd dig). Having said that, a quality bat. Didn't know he had gone home....you sure?? All sides can have bad days, just glad it was last Saturday and not in the next month, hopefully. Not...
Heard last that the president of the vtca has resigned? Apparently after an altercation during the CY's and Sth Caulfield game a couple of weeks ago, it went to the tribunal and 1 Sth C player got off with a warning? Pres not too happy with the outcome of the tribunal result???? Anyone care to...
Get fair dinkum, I have not seen any "rubbish" on any of the vtca threads Ljp. Seriously, if you are going to ban posters for anything that has been said on this board over the last 2 pages, I think it is time your gave me a spell. There are PLENTY of other boards that need cleaning up before...
Looks like i jumped the gun about our ground being ready. 1 week off apparently. Council top dressed the square 2 weeks after the footy club finished! Anyhow, any word from the meeting last night about the first round?
Spotty will be ready to go. With the weather this week, there really should be little or no reasons why wickets should not be ready. If clubs go to the effort of being ready, and some don't, then the VTCA should not penalise those that make the effort by calling the round off.
