Spotty will be ready to go. With the weather this week, there really should be little or no reasons why wickets should not be ready. If clubs go to the effort of being ready, and some don't, then the VTCA should not penalise those that make the effort by calling the round off.Do we think the vtca is just going to call this first round off as they have the spare round later or just play for the teams that can get on??

Apparently the weather front coming in is larger than earlier forecasts.there is now rain forecast from wednesday which might have a bearing on play taking place
Looks like i jumped the gun about our ground being ready. 1 week off apparently. Council top dressed the square 2 weeks after the footy club finished! Anyhow, any word from the meeting last night about the first round?
Sensible call imo. Our bottom ground is good to go, so may be playing 2's on Sat and 3's on Sunday? We r on as long as the weather is good
With the make up round does the whole league have to be called off or do the games that just don't get on get played in the make up round
WGAFOn another note... Page 60 of the HS today, I hope the Vtca fine doutta for Brendan Nash wearing his west indies helmet?! It should have the standard ankle tap across the front I believe! I'm sure his 13 was blistering?
I remember playing with a few guys returning from district and our club being fined for having their logos... This was tongue cheek SS. But playing v yarraville for a minute I thought I was a lot better cricketer and was playing district v nth melb or essendon! come on Sledge it's early, where's your sense of humor???WGAF
Only ordinary players would consider sledging him.If he gets off to a bad start to the year and keeps wearing his West Indies gear i'd expect him to have a few sledges thrown at him.
Any feedback on the balls
Lets not get carried away just yet. The conditions were as good as they will get for how well a ball is preserved. In our game they were an orange/red colour and the pitch had a lot of grass. The ball got whacked around everywhere and still kept it's shape nicely so for once a thumbs up to the platypus!
