Australian Test XI - Selection Thread

Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread On regards to Siddle not kicking the pitch, he just tends to scream instead. :p The reason I was so impressed with Doug the rug is that I've never seen anyone in my short lifetime sprint in as hard and fast as that in my life. He also tends to...

    West Indies in Australia

Re: West Indies in Australia What about his bat looking nowhere like being near the ball, and the fact that snicko lines are long and thin when there is an edge? Don't know why you're so wrapped up on hotspot, most of us said that we didn't think he hit it before the replays.

Australian Test XI - Selection Thread

Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread Siddle was impressive in South Africa, but he has too many down patches IMO. He's not like Johnson in that when he's bowling badly he still takes wickets. I don't think they can drop Doug, so it's really Siddle vs. Hilfy. I'd take Hilfy to be honest.

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 Yeah, probably went over the top when I said District 4s is much better, but some district teams 5ths are in other comps A grades.

Australian Test XI - Selection Thread

Re: Australian Test XI - Selection Thread Bollinger should be in the side based on effort. He tries his guts out every single ball. He will give it all he has got for as long as you bowl him. He's worth it I reckon.

    West Indies in Australia

Re: West Indies in Australia When it beat Roach's bat, I remember thinking "he didn't hit that, so why the **** are they appealing" then they gave it out! Absolutely shocking.

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 I reckon if he got you good in the head you'd be in just a little bit of trouble. :p

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

    West Indies in Australia

Re: West Indies in Australia I reckon Bravo could be one of the world's class all rounders. Add to that his terrific fielding and cricket brain, he would be an important asset to any side.

    Pace Bowling guide

Re: Pace Bowling guide Well it'd be good to see what everyone does first of all. I'm a medium outswing bowler, occasionally getting it to come back into the batsman.

how to bat for spin bowling

Re: how to bat for spin bowling I find using your crease the best way to play spin. Watch the ball through the air to determine the length, if you can do this early, you can charge down and smother the ball before it spins (or play aggressively), or you can rock back right in your crease and...

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 Yeah, might be better to do a "best batsman and bowler from each club" kind of thing, from experience of course. Rivergum: Bat: Jesse Ball: Baring Baseballers: Bat: Sortino (although he's struggled this year, against us he was their best bat I think)...

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 Ah, it's too late to be trolling through stats of both juniors and seniors. I might throw one up tomorrow or Sunday, especially since a few in our juniors comp play in other leagues for seniors? Just an all NMCA side then? You'd think players like Sortino, Jesse...

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 Actually, Simon has played 1s with Bundoora, which I'm pretty sure is in DVCA's A grade, and Jesse plays district (which most would recognise as better than A grade at club level), so 2. EDIT: Just relax guys, let your cricket do the talking.

    NMCA Juniors 09/10

Re: NMCA Juniors 09/10 I wouldn't take too much from it, they only had 8 players. Heard Sorts bowled well, who else took wickets? On another note, Love seems to be going alright. Any chance of people chucking up their thoughts on the best 5 batsmen and bowlers?
