Re: First Time on a bowling machine:
I dont think 90 MPH will be too different to the 87 mph i have already faced.
Its certainly different though to a real bowler! you dont get to watch the run up or release, it just kind of appears bloody fast!
Got another session booked for this...
Re: Knee Pain!
I can't wait for the start of the season to get more active! I've been pretty lazy of late and find it hard to actually go running or excercise ! Unless it's cricket ! ; )
Re: Knee Pain!
well my Knee pain is gone! must have been the snowboarding and pressures that it causes?
Question liz?
is Skiing better on the knees than snowboarding
Re: Is it wrong that i dont mind getting hit with the ball ?
show no pain! at least until they get you out!
being a wicket keeper i get hit all the time, my forearms are always taking a battering!
as for batting its not a bad thing, but like Mas says wait till you get hit by something...
First Time on a bowling machine:
well as the title suggests i had my first go on the bowling machine today......
Subsidised by my club it cost me £10 for half an hour, and in my opinion it was the best tenna i have spent in ages!
I dont think i would advocate using one all the time but...
Re: Not improving
Mark,
you are very close to us, I used to live in broxbourne near you and go shooting in Cheshunt so know it very well.
we are a Focus Club, (weve only just got confirmation that we have achieved this status) just
found out from my club development manager that Brox...
Re: Not improving
Mark,
where in Hertfordshire are you? let me know. I'm the Secretary of Ware Cricket CLub and can more than likely point you in the right direction. Or if you are close to Ware feel free to come along to our nets, we have 5 ECB approved coaches, one of them being level 3...
Re: What bat do you use?
you should really store it horizontally, especially after oiling, stops it from pooling or staying in one part of the bat!
i did the same with my custom county, must have knocked it in for 10 hours, especially the toe,
3 nets sessions later and a yorker later and...
Re: What bat do you use?
how did you store it after you oiled it?
strangely it can make a difference......
.
even though i knocked in my New Kook for hours, i was in the nets last night and our quickie (bowls early 80 mph) managed to dent it!
but never mind
Re: Indoor Cricket - Tactics?
talking about tactics, we played one side who scored 140 odd against us, a reasonable score for a average batting side in our competition then they proceded to bowl nothing but no balls and wides, they restricted us to about 80 runs from extras we virtually hit...
Re: Wicket Keeper
well thats one of the main reasons he was the keeper as well! because he could bat!
He wasnt the greatest keeper, but he was good enough!
Re: playing indoor cricket in the off season??
i would have to agree, they really are two different games!
i found you really dont value your wicket in indoor cricket, no building of an innings!
but like you say its better to do something rather than nothing and its still a form of...
Re: playing indoor cricket in the off season??
Interesting posts,
For what its worth we entered two teams in a league this year in our off season. The cost for us is £24 per team per game, so we charged £5 per head per player per game.
As a wicket keeper it is a great benefit to your...
Re: What bat do you use?
yea its a nice shape,
i'm still adjusting to it, its a weird pick up feels like there is no weight in the toe! and the middle is very high compared to my other two bats.
i'm aure after a few nets sessions and swinging it around the house i will get used to it!
