Batting Techniques!

does anyone have any links or info on Batting techniques for different shots!

makes me laugh when people say thats text book but in all honesty ive never seen a text book or read one. i have always been kind of self taught?

i'd be interested to read some !

Re: Batting Techniques!

BBC is a good place to start for the basics. Bob Woolmer stuff is also good (newish book and I think a DVD as well).

Generally most coaching books have the correct techniques but what the player does with it tends to vary.

Re: Batting Techniques!

i'm sure it would be an interesting read, especially seeing how teh game has evolved since then!

Re: Batting Techniques!

Gary Palmers coaching book is very good and detailed (I know I shouldn't advertise it but you can download it as an eBook from my website... shhh).

Edit - its call "cricket coachmaster batting mechanics" and you can get a real version on Amazon if you prefer.

Re: Batting Techniques!

admitidly i had already seen it on your academy thing,

but if i'm honest i didnt like the payment page, so i didnt buy it!

Re: Batting Techniques!

What didn't you like about it?

I would recommend buying it either from us or from Amazon though. It's a good book. Gary knows his technique inside out.

Re: Batting Techniques!

well ive ordered a hard copy from amazon, will let you know what i think once i get back form austria!

Re: Batting Techniques!

I bought a copy a long time before I was selling it and in terms of technique it's brilliant. I would say it's hard to adapt to your game as you can't see yourself bat so you don't know if you are diong the stuff right.

Maybe the best use of it is with a mate. You can compare each others techniques to the book.
