Re: Injuries when fielding...(possibly NSFW photo of a broken finger)
hmmmnnnn ive broken two fingers in the last two years but never like that!
Thank god for gloves!
thats gonna take a while to heal!
Re: Fielding in slips
from my very limited experience in the slips, (usually behind the stumps) i find its better not to watch the bowler but watch the bat!
Try and anticipate the shot the bat may play.
Stay low and rise with the ball!
Soft hands and dont snatch!
enjoy!
Re: Kookaburra Kahuna Ricky Ponting Bat?
well it would be rude to disclose the exact amount of our discount but The Uk Disty for Kookaburra struck a very good deal.
I now have the Bat and have started knocking it in.
Broken toes off bats are generally down to not knocking it in, or a...
Re: how to keep your cricket bat in good condition
well i would tend to argue that! if you dont look after your bat it wont play very well and certainly wont last as long. Cleaning and oiling the Bat allows it to stay supple and stock the bat from drying out! Drying out means its more likely...
Re: Kookaburra Kahuna Ricky Ponting Bat?
Right well the new bat and stuff turned up today, Bat looks nice. Pick up is fantastic.
middle is a little high! will start knocking in asap!
now i just need to swap my new pads and gloves into the bag before the misses sees them!
Re: Pietersen and Moores resign
i have to say i'm slightly gutted, i thought KP would lead England to the Ashes!
But Strauss should have had his chance before Flintoff. I think he will be a good skipper!
Re: Best balls to buy.
surely it would benefit you to buy the same balls you would use in your games!
or if your lucky like me and skipper a side, keep the old match balls!
Re: how to keep your cricket bat in good condition
two schools of thought really,
when i had my county Bat Hand made, i said about knocking it in and the guy said dont bother your only going to hit the ball with it any way, but my newbury took ages to get it right!
its recommended that...
Re: Kookaburra Kahuna Ricky Ponting Bat?
well i'm sure it will be like most bats, knock it in ok and it will be fine!
look after your bat and it will look after you!
Re: Kookaburra Kahuna Ricky Ponting Bat?
well we have just signed a deal with Kookaburra / readers to supply our club kit this year, so it will have a reasonable discount.
i just want something to go in between my newbury samurai and the sapling?
i'm sure a few hours of knocking in will...
Re: Wicketkeeping extras
well our winter nets starts next weekend, so i'm looking forward to that.
we are lucky enough to have Keith Piper coming along for some wicket keeping training.!
Re: Favourite phones - What's your Pick?
I have had 3 iphones so far.... (through upgrades) and tehy are all Fantastic!!!
the 3G is even better, now you dont have to rely on edge and wireless.
Who needs MMS when you can email? and larger files which cost NOTHING to send! (how much is mms?)
Re: Wicketkeeping extras
Equipment is a must! ive yet to find a pair of inners which are ok on their own.... i was using a pair of chamoix leathers with a pair of cut down puma ones as extra padding! just for the main part of my hand!
Having said that i'm in the middle of having some custom...
Re: Wicketkeeping extras
Well as much as i would recommend extra padding you really need to look at how you are receiving the ball!
You need to look at where you are taking the ball from the quicks, it really should be at its peak or as it drops into your hands, this way most of its pace has...
Re: Kitting out a new youth team
i know our treasurer has just struck a deal with Kookaburra for our new youth section!
i will ask if he has any other ideas for you!
