MyCricket gives some interesting statistics.
Last season Whittlesea had 43 senior players across Mash, E and T20.
Over the last 5 seasons they have had 119 senior players (excluding Vets).
And none of them want to play for Whittlesea anymore!
Its funny that they announced that they have signed him, as if hes a big recruit. I would be telling him to pay subs like everyone else. He’s not that good.
I agree, if you're on big dollars then its definitely worth it. But there's quite a few mercenaries that are getting a only a few grand and change clubs season after season. They obviously don't know how to value their time.
If money is what you're after then you're better off getting a real job.
Lets say you spend 3 hours travelling and training twice a week, plus 8 hours on a Saturday travelling and training for 20 weeks plus another 2 weeks of finals. Add in a couple of hours a week for 2 months of pre-season...
......... and Eltham didn't get up.
It could be an exciting finish at the bottom of the ladder. Only 0.0241 in percentage separating Eltham and OP.
OP have got Mernda this round and if they can get up, then Eltham will probably be in Mash Shield next season.
With Lower Eltham getting...
If true, this is hilarious. Toddy did see that he was named in Heidelberg 2s but did not play. I’ve always found it funny that local cricketers who aren’t any good get upset at being dropped.
According to mycricket, the man in question has played 134 senior matches and never made a hundred...
I’m hearing that a few clubs were praying for rain. Took the gamble and didn’t forfeit their lowest grade on Thursday night hoping Saturday would be called off.
It's hard to take this post seriously when it refers to spectators.
Toddy has played a lot of DVCA cricket. If spectators do bother turning up, its usually after 4pm for a few cans and a chat.
There'd be lucky to be 2 men and a dog watching before tea. I don't think the DVCA should consider...
I’m a bit confused about the times.
We used to play 80 overs in a day - 1pm to 6pm.
Yet now we will play an extra 90 minutes and bowl an extra 10 overs? Or an extra 120 minutes for an 20 overs?
Is the Wuhan virus hoax going to cause everyone to dawdle in the field all day?
According to Riverside he's a left arm fast bowler and handy lower order batsman. According to My Cricket he took 7 wickets @ 36.29 and made 23 runs @ 3.83 in 10 matches last season. I doubt oppositions are worried.
