A long way off with the Crocs ''Johnny", I am sure they will be well coached but don't think they will have the cattle, still may upset the odd team throughout the year. Darwin started well last year, have to keep it up for the season, Pints to me are the favourites followed by Palmerston.
I...
Don't disagree, hearing their 11's and 13's at Tahs have good numbers and apparently working hard in the In2cricket area as well. Still gunna be years off seeing these kids get through the ranks though. TV no better as they don't have an Under 17 team and spending a fortune on recruits. Worrying...
Come on give us your winners, don't sit on the fence even though I agree it is very hard to work out! Darwin to defeat Tahs only because they know each other, Pints will beat Palmerston and Tracy Village on the back of Simon Keen will beat the Tigers.....early flag favourites for me are Pints...
Good call 'Ohmygodthechips''. I think Pints look really solid, Palmo if they can pull everyone together will be there. Waratahs if it all falls into place could be very good, however easier said than done to bring a group of strangers together. Tracy have lost plenty of experience, no doubt they...
For your gossip lads..........The Crocodiles have picked up a couple of lads. One from Tassie who is here already and another lad Matty Stopp I Think? Keeper that was here a couple of years ago, apparently Moffatt will come back for 6 weeks or so to have a hit later on and still talking with...
Fair enough, we can agree to disagree as he is a very hands on coach and one of the best communicators of cricket going around as far as I am concerned. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, also remember he spent 5 years assisting in Alice Springs and Westies won 4 flags in five years after...
Hey 'I Am Legend', to answer a few of your questions. I have moved back down south and still involved with cricket at a district club.
Firstly Pints are situated where they are and good luck to them for this. You cannot blame them for where they are situated and if anything NT Cricket set the...
Totally correct Barry, a new club or a club from inner Darwin to re-locate is badly required. I can't believe NT Cricket haven't been more proactive in promoting this and working on this, as leaving it too late if they aren't careful.
Gidday Barry, probably correct re Tahs, I don't think they have too many other options though do they? Best option would either be merge with Darwin or maybe re-locate to Palmerston or at least their junior base which is feasible and possible.
Back to Aldam, certainly helped the Crocs when no...
Come on Barry that is very harsh and smacks of jealousy mate. Agree with Tahs, added Lawrence and Green into the locals and I regard Schmulian as a local these days as well. Aldam is a life member of Nightcliff and has done a lot for NT Cricket including still looking after the Imparja Cup team...
Good luck 'Palmerston Represent' I have no doubt you guys will be very competitive!! My summary of the teams and positions at this stage, stressing things can change re-recruits coming or not turning up over the next month or so:
1. Palmerston: Solid local base and add a couple of recruits and...
Gidday All, reading your posts and looks to me like you are around the mark. Tahs have no option but to recruit as no local depth at all. Darwin have some handy local lads but do need to bolster their ranks with imports and junior bas is shaky there. Crocs good junior numbers, however only 4...
Hi Lads, great to have found this informative site and get some local gossip on the cricket in Darwin. I too have heard the usual rumours bouncing around and Waratahs and TV are certainly heavily recruiting making it look a little silly the competition, it sounds like from there both Pints and...
