As many of you will be aware we are on the cusp of an exciting new era with the inaugural 2007 Twenty20 World Championships, which will be held in South Africa.

According to the bookmakers Australia will once again enter a tournamentus on the world stage as favourites, with South Africa a close second. On this occasion though England will surely have an edge due to the game originating in these fair shores and the amount of matches our players have been exposed to?

12th September: Australia v Zimbabwe at Cape Town
12th September: New Zealand v Kenya at Durban
12th September: Pakistan v Scotland at Durban

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

With Murali out with a joint Shoulder/Elbow problem, id say Sri Lanka's chance have nearly halved!

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

I agree in the bowling department, but they have pinchiting at the top of the order [Sanath Jayasuriya] and other middle order batsmen aswell.

Aussies to romp all over the others and win the only trophy that we can possibly win. ;D ;D

I reckon NZ have a chance, they kind of have a hidden skills about them, no one knows how well they'll proform, and Vettori is a good ODI captain AND ODI bowler

Yes. The Kiwis have always came up short in The World Cup. Let's see if they can do better in the shorter version of the game.

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

Sri Lanka always stand a chance, England seem to be on the start of an upwards cerve, you never know they could peak early.

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

Well England have a good side and with some Twenty20 specialists England have a chance but Australia always going to be favortites.

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

Apparently Murali might make it now, so Sri Lanka's chances will increase again ;)

I'm gunning for an England V Australia final though.

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

England can do well, but they have to get their selection right early on or else they could well fail miserabley.

btw has anyone seen Australia's new 2020 kit? It's fairly hilarious!

Re: 2007 Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa

I've seen the kit and its a bit 'meh'. The grey clashes with the yellow and the trousers appear to have pockets on the knee. I'll grab a picture in a bit.
