2014/2015 Barclay Shield

These 2 bowlers are premium quality and are dangerous at Premier level so look out batsmen. They bowl very well in partnership with each other so the pressure is mental and physical. The only disadvantage for them will be the crap bouncy synthetic which could stop them hitting the stumps as much. All I can say to DVCA batsmen is "good luck guys".

Like all bowlers, they won't be able to hit the stumps bowling on a length, but they'll just have 3 short legs and get their wickets there.

Doyle, O'Connor and Gedge all had really good years with the ball, so they'll be taking overs from guys who performed well this year. I'll be interested to see if they've gone after any batsmen.

Interested in where the two of them (Austin and Salm) will bat. Now, looking at stats they've both genuine 10 and 11 at District 1s level, although have not been awful bats at all. But at local level, they're going to be facing significantly lesser bowlers. I would imagine they are both going to be able to go alright with the bat this year too, maybe batting at 7/8? In a similar (not the same) vein as Motchall did when he came back.

Maddox leave of his own accord or asked to leave?
Looking at his season, looks like he might have had a falling out??

Surprised to hear that, that's a few out the side. Henkel and Jephcott would be loses. They stagnated this year and a few sides went past them. Next year is a big year for clubs, it will be a good time to win the flag. Sammy Kandage will be flying over half of Sri Lanka next season.

I am hearing that the Bundoora side is going to have a very very strong international feel next year.

Interesting, they can be so hit and miss. Like mentioned earlier though, the fast/medium bowlers tend to be better value than the batsmen. I wonder how much they cost compared to getting someone the likes of Austin or Salm (Riverside probably paid unders as these guys would have been able to shop themselves around a lot of comps if they wanted).

Bundoora's import this year was good. Surely they'll get him back again?

No you're not, you have been having a dig at imports (strangely only those form the sub-continent) for the best part of 8 years. Might be time to watch Frozen again as surely it's time.........

Field:

1x keeper
3x slips
2x gully
1x leg gully
1x short leg
1x short backward square
1x silly mid off

Batsman:

1x swing as hard as you f***ing can

8 years? Is that how long you've been getting imports for? And I never once mentioned a race, you brought that up.

And yes, I had heard that the number of imports at Bundoora may be increasing next season? Are you here to correct me, and that it will stay at 1 next year?

Maybe longer? i was coaching in 07/08 and i am sure we had one before that.

Early days when you were posting under 4 different usernames (jb's shadow ring a bell) i reckon you had a fair crack at them. Alas, with no proof, i am happy to retract.

You are getting fed lies, i am no longer at the coalface so to speak but i know that our recruiting has been focussed "locally" for want of a better description. I suppose it will be dependant on how many we get across the line though. As mentioned previously, tough season ahead and all clubs will be doing what they can to stay up. Waste of time if it's not sustainable though so you need to be carefull not to put all your eggs in one basket.

I haven't played against them much (once) Who's a bigger loss out of Jephcott and Henkel?
Likewise, but I think Henkel with his skills as an all rounder brought more to the table, though Jephcott seemed to be a more reliable bat.
Maddox apparently had the best gloves out off all the money shield sides as well so he could be a handy pick up for someone
