I have no sympathy for Bundoora United. They cheated and got caught. They should be booted out of the comp. Go and play in the Northcote and Preston Churches Cricket Association where they belong.

Which other club? They're not the only club that's found themselves in this position this week...
Big night on the gas Warwick?I have no sympathy for Bundoora United. They cheated and got caught. They should be booted out of the comp. Go and play in the Northcote and Preston Churches Cricket Association where they belong.

Surely the league will have to go through and check every player in the comp now . Although they shouldn't have to and the clubs should really be doing the right thing and police this themselves
I won't name the club. I am sure that in all good time it'll come out.
For what its worth - If the said club receives the same punishment as Bundoora United, I have done the points calculations and I don't think it would effect finals or relegation across the TWO grades that the player played (Neither were in Shield grades). So I guess its a little lower on the DVCA priority list.
Obviously they've done the wrong thing here and have paid a heavy price . Just wondering is there any way for a player to play across two comps like a permit situation?

Ex Pres would possibly have a better knowledge than me, but from what I understand, the only way a player can play across two comps is a District player in the lower grades (Not a First XI player) when they have either
1) Not been selected in a team for that round or
2) if they have been washed out.
Then a DVCA club can apply for a special permit for that player to play in the DVCA for that game only. If it happens again the next game, they would need to apply again.
I don't think there are any other ways a player can play in 2 comps at once.
Funny you mention about a club knowing about this and sitting on it. I've heard exactly that. On a more positive note and to change direction. It would be remiss of me not to mention the efforts of a young 15yo who top scored for us in Barclay on Saturday. Young Ben Davies (nephew of Luke, Corey etc) batted with a lot of patience and maturity for 46 overs to score 38 and help us post a score which might get us across the line if the bowlers do the job. Top effort BennyHow did the exec find out about the BU situation? Loose lips from within BU or a tip off from another club? Some clubs have benefited not just for finals but also possible relegation, so it's quite possible a club has sat on this to see how it could benefit them.

Answer is. Admin rule 6 states that if a player registered in DVCA plays in another Saturday Comp, then he becomes ineligible in the DVCA.If what you're saying is true, these are my thoughts:
If he played in NSW under a "dodgy" name as you say (can you elaborate?) then I would take it that said player has never actually been cleared to leave Bundoora United and therefore still a eligible Bun United player? The ineligibility part would be for the club in NSW and he should therefore still be a registered player in the DVCA under Bundoora United. Thus meaning the NSW club should be punished by their association and possibly the player if he knew as he is still registered for Bun United and they are the ones who have actually committed the fraud?

Spot on. I just had a read, this is quoted from the rules:
"The player is registered at a club or within an association that does not play on Saturdays during the months of October to March. If the player subsequently plays senior cricket at another club that is involved in an association that plays on Saturdays during October to March, then that player will be deemed ineligible to play in the DVCA for the remainder of the season. Important to note that the condition is based on the competitions playing dates, not whether the player actually played on a Saturday or not."
Loose lips sink ships. No sympathy for whoever was complicit in the cheating.I have no sympathy for Bundoora United. They cheated and got caught. They should be booted out of the comp. Go and play in the Northcote and Preston Churches Cricket Association where they belong.
