2022 ICC T20 World Cup - October/November 2022

After looking gone Namibia have clawed their way back into the game v UAE, should be an entertaining finish now.

And Ireland knock the West Indies out, did it easily too. Great batting from Paul Stirling with an unbeaten 66

Well that was an awful performance. Australia will now be on the back foot from the start with an awful NRR.

Crowd at the MCG tonight is electric, game pretty evenly balanced too India 2 for 17 in reply to India's 160.

Insane finish. Pakistan absolutely bottled it, should have had a fairly comfortable win which turned into a last ball defeat.

India shouldn't have got near victory needing 28 runs from eight balls but managed to get home thanks to some awful bowling.

And Zimbabwe fight back to snatch victory from Pakistan, fantastic game of cricket. They aren't common but imo low scoring T20s that go down to the wire are the best games.

Very good game last night. The low scoring T20's are the best ones I reckon, value on every run which makes for intriguing and thrilling cricket.

Today's games, well the less said the better. Not sure why Melbourne and Hobart are hosting so many matches given their climate, particularly at this time of the year.

New Zealand finish with an easy win over Sri Lanka. New Zealand started poorly but recovered to post 7/167. Sri Lanka never got going in reply to be all out for 102.

Super Sunday follows tomorrow with three games, Bangladesh take on Zimbabwe in an early afternoon fixture in Brisbane. Things then swing over to Perth with Netherlands facing Pakistan in an afternoon game while India take on South Africa in a night fixture.

Weather is pretty rough out my way 300kms away but the sky is looking good in Perth for India v South Africa.

Netherlands knocked over South Africa today which eliminated the Proteas from the tournament in what was a shock but very much a South Africa-esque defeat. Pakistan then defeated Bangladesh to quality for the semi finals while India thrashed Zimbabwe in the evening fixture.

The semi finals will see New Zealand take on Pakistan in Sydney on Wednesday at 19:00 local time (8:00 UTC) while India face England on Thursday in Adelaide at 18:30 local time (8:00 UTC).

Pakistan proved to be a bit too good for New Zealand tonight in the first semi final. New Zealand made 4/152 from their 20 overs which looked a good 15-20 runs short. Pakistan scored 3/153 in reply aided by a fast start and chased the target down in 19.1 overs.

Pakistan move onto the final and take on the winner of India vs England tomorrow at Adelaide Oval. That match gets underway at 18:30 local time (8:00 UTC).

India in SF2 post a total of 168 and are slight favourites but I think I like England's chances of chasing this down in Adelaide.

England off to a great start in reply going at over 10 an over after 5, India need to pull something out and soon before the game is gone.

England 0/98 from 10 overs, need 71 from the final 10 overs to win. India's sluggish start with the bat in the powerplay compared to England's very brisk powerplay is what is proving the difference here. England bowled well early while the Indian attack has offered too much width with the ball.
