2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

And you knew it was too good to last.

Rajin Saleh out for 40

40-5 after 11

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Bangladesh 58-5 at stumps on day 2.
Mohammad Sharif with a decent job as nightwatchman, seeing off 10 balls, but Shakib will be the key again tomorrow, as he's sitting on 30 right now. If he cab keep it up, he might inspire one or two other Bangladesh batsmen to join in. Though to be fair, he did come close to getting out once or twice already today.

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Bangladesh all out for 118

Zaheer Khan took 5, Kumble took 3, and Ishant Sharma took his first test wicket.

India still leads by 492. Not surprisingly, the follow on has been enforced.

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Javed Omar out for a golden duck for the second time in this test!!!
It's Zaheer Khan again.

Replays though seem to show that Daryl Harper was wrong and Omar was justified to stand there with a shocked look on his face, as his bat clearly made no contact with the ball. Tough luck for Omar this time.

Bangladesh 0-1

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

10-1 at lunch

It would be nice if Nafees or anyone else could stick around for a while today. At this point, just forcing a Day 4 would feel like a bit of a victory.

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Incredible Ashraful!!!!!!!!!!

He's got the second fastest half century ever in test cricket!!!
He's up to 51 after just 26 balls!!

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Bangladesh 76-3 after 10 overs

Ashraful up to 57

It may not last much longer, but at least Ash has provided the crowd with some entertainment in this hopeless test.

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Rajin Saleh is up to 40, and it's 129-4

Re: 2nd Test: Bangladesh v India at Mirpur

Bangladesh doing nothing to disprove why they shouldn't play test cricket. What a pathetic performance by them in this test. First, an abysmal effort with the ball after a sub-standard decision to bowl first, then they have the nerve to serve up that batting performance at least they provided some entertainment in the second dig.

Anyway, they were bowled out for 253 in their second innings. As well as Ashraful's brisk but entertaining contribution, Mashrafe Mortaza made 70 off 68 balls. I think this guy could be a contender for future all-rounder status, he was Bangladesh's best player in the series by far with both bat and ball.

Powar took three wickets with Zaheer Khan, Tendulkar and Kumble getting two each. RP Singh picked up the other scalp.

So India ended up crushing an inept Bangladeshi line-up by an innings an 239 runs.

Zaheer Khan picked up Man of the Match for his seven wickets with Sachin Tendulkar being named Man of the Series.

And Javed Omar collected a King Pair. :D

Seriously though, Bangladesh should be playing more games against Ireland and Zimbabwe. I think they'd be suited a lot better against those type of opponents than playing teams like India and others. The scoreline would be even more one-sided once they play the likes of Australia and South Africa although they did play well in that test against the Aussies last year or the year before.

I think their fans would be very disappointed with the crap they served up in this test match.
