Poor old Murali isn't even going to get a chance to bowl at this rate.

He did. In fact he was required to take Sidebottom's wicket after a long rain delay.

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

All of England hopes now lie on the batting of Harmison and Panesar, looking for a partnership of 400 runs from these two!!! Come on, both of them are capable of scoring their first ever double centuries here!!! :D

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

Good grief! Three more wickets in seven deliveries!

England is 74-9 after 29.2 overs.

They weren't able to take any advantage at all from that long rain delay.

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

Oops!!!

Monty Panesar was just 200 runs short of his double century, got himself run out. That was that.

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

England all out for 81.
Eighty-One!

Hmm, I wonder if Jayawardene will enforce the follow on. :p
(This has got to be one of the easiest follow-on decisions of all time.)

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

England couldn't qualify for Euro 2008 in football. And England cricket is in the gutter. Looks like some Christmas they're having for England sport over there. I guess the only consolation they have at this point is that they beat Sri Lanka in ODI series. And England made to Rugby World Cup final. And Lewis Hamilton came "this" close to winning Formula-1. But obviously negatives for England sport far outweigh anything positive at the moment.

Not that I'm in mourning over any of this mind you, but it's almost criminal how poorly they folded today.

England has sucked at sport since the beginning of time, everyone knows it. Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Soccer, Swimming, any sport you can think of and England will have choked, screwed up or failed to qualify for.

It is amazing that one country can be so bad at every sport they participate in. You would think that they would at least be half decent at sports which have been so traditional in the country for many years, those sports being cricket and soccer. But no, they continue to show why they are so pathetic at a variety of things.

Today's effort proves how far away England has fallen after being utterly destroyed by Australia in the Ashes series. England are looking at an innings defeat here to Sri Lanka who were thrashed by Australia recently in the two test series. I can only imagine what would happen if England were to play Australia again, it would be a slaughter.

England showed very little application today, while some batters got genuinely good deliveries, others played some pretty miserable cricket. To be bowled out for 81 at international level is nothing short of pathetic.

Anyway, this is lovely to watch being an Australian :)D) but seriously, what looked to be headed for a draw has turned out into a very, very one-sided game in less than one day.

England play New Zealand in the not too distant future, it may be the battle of the wounded warriors as both sides will go into the series licking their wounds.

Geez man, wanna throw some World War II jabs while you are at it? What can I say though, when you are right, you are right. Wouldn't be surprised if someone grabs that for their sig!!:D

Haha, feel free. We all know it's the truth though. :D

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

The rain cancelled all of yesterday, and has threatened and actually stopped play so far today. But they're back playing now and Cook just fell for 118. Sri Lanka has a real chance to win this now, barring more rain.

England 250-6

Unless Sidebottom and Prior can put together a good hour-long partnership, England's only chance is the rain.

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

Ack. Me and my big mouth. The rain just started up again.
England may yet survive.

Re: 3rd Test: Sri Lanka v England at Galle

That's the end of this test series now, and off go England back home for Christmas. They definitely didn't deserve this draw.
