Agsv

Re: Agsv

i believe that the agsv thread should be renamed the arthur nitsopolous appreciation thread cause to be honest the only chance the ags have of beating the aps is if the big greek is on the park. fingers crossed he stays injury free and is available for the aps game. might be playing for the vics by then

yeah it was them two guys.
north east side looks strong, tom gilmore looks very solid he will smash them come january.
ahh also abatangelo should be handy as well making a few runs.
fielding was outstanding as well.
bowling wasnt bad either....but the side will be pretty good considering they made the runs easily against a pretty good bowling attack.

Re: Agsv

16's :)

oh yeh, from what i saw when i arrived the batting was very good.
and some of the bowling was alright as well so seemed like a good hitout for the boys.
would love tom to smash them come january, leaves me with some runs to play with when i bowl.

From what i've seen Mentone seem to have a decent batting line-up. Although they failed against Trinity, all their batsmen seemed to be decent down to about 8 or 9.

Surely you cant look into Peninsuals massive scores when playing at home, their grounds the size of the one i played U/10s on.

whats the size of the ground matter mate both teams are playing on it so if it was so easy to get big scores on then why arnt the other teams getting them and there biggest score was at camberwell when they made 310 or so and they chased down 237 at marcelin which is massive only 5 down with 8 overs left

I'm getting at the point that despite Peninsula having a few batsmen making big scores, surely when playing at home this helps their cause.
I'm just comparing it for example a bloke who makes 60 playing at trinity, marcellin or mentone, would be making almost 100 playing on Peninsula's ground due to the size of it.

Re: Agsv

bit of topic but worth a mention...
Mitch Brown from mentone drafted today at no 15 to geelong. highest ags play to be taken in the draft this year. great achievement. he certainly dominated against us earlier in the year absolute gun. Thoughts??

Re: Agsv

As the half way popint of the season has nearly passed who are the stand out players from each side?

Assumption: Wright
TPS;?
Trinity:?
Yarra:?
PEGS:?
Ivanhoe: Guercia (however you spell it)
Mentone:?
Camberwell: (very average side from all reports?
Marcelin:?

So, fmr_13, what did you think of Ivanhoe's attack?

well considering the frontline bowler was absent, it is already behind the 8 ball.
i was impressed by the movement the bowlers had, often swinging it both ways. the spinner bowled far too short and got murdered through point. most of the change bowlers regularly overpitched and gave the batsman width to hit.

but overall, a 6/10 :)

Yeah, we bowled pretty crap.

Re: Agsv

guys just saw ivanhoe vs mentone in the 20/20..
don't know how you guys don't think mentone is in the top 3 grounds. its in immaculate condition not to mention the deck is a batters paradise.
by the way mentone 9/171 def ivanhoe 6/125
