This better be on Foxtel.

No Hughes is interesting. Hopefully Gazza can bowl well and put his hand up for the World Cup.

Zimbabwe 5/169 not long after tea. Dane Piedt has three wickets on debut and Dale Steyn has a couple. Brendan Taylor is 62 not out for the home team and Hamilton Masakadza scored 45 opening the innings.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 256, Taylor top scored with 93 before falling victim to Dane Piedt who claimed four wickets on debut. Dale Styen finished with 5/46 to be the best of the bowlers.

In reply South Africa have crawled to 6/238 off 140 overs. Faf du Plessis was out for 98, Dean Elgar opened the innings with 61 while Quinton de Kock made 81. John Nyumbu has 3/119 to be the best of the Zimbabwean attack at the moment.

Zimbabwe seem to be putting in a decent effort. Good to see. The ODI's will be useful for the World Cup. I would not be sure that they are not resting Hughes for the cup. no point in burning him out with the Ashes on the back of a long summer ahead.

Zimbabwe did a great job apart from their second innings collapse. Will be good to see them play more tests against major test nations.

South Africa got to 379 before Zimbabwe were rolled for 181 in the second dig. Piedt did the damage again with four wickets with Steyn and Morne Morkel getting three apiece.

South Africa reached the target of 41 without much trouble although Dean Elgar was out two runs short of the target. In the end the Proteas won by nine wickets, Dane Piedt was Man of the Match with eight wickets on debut.

The first ODI between these sides is on Sunday.

Ah this shall be another exciting series although the upper hand is with the south africa with the recent win over sri lanka in test's and odi's zimbabwe will fight hard.

south africa post 257 and faf is SA's top scorer with 55 and Zimbabwe start there innings loosing 2 quick wickets, brendon taylor is still in the wicket so anything can happen.

zimbabwe fell a good 60 runs short and again the SA bowlers have done a splendid job mclaren and parnell picked up 3 wickets each.

Australia put in to bat by Zimbabwe. Looks like about 3 men and a dog in the crowd, not sure what Phil Hughes has to do to actually get a game..

0 for 63 Australia finally starting to get going after a pretty circumspect start, look set for a big score now.

Well South Africa have put Australia in to bat, Nathan Lyon dropped after just the 1 ordinary game for an in for Phil Hughes. Haddin pushed down to bat at 7.
