Australia vs England - The Ashes 2021/22

Well that was a destructive session by the Aussie quicks. The 'albatross' Cameron Green started the rot with a sensational three wicket spell and it just did not improve after that for the hapless Poms.

4-nil and maximum WTC points for the Baggy Greens. How sweet it is.

Gotta love it.

I am a mad cricket nut not so tennis.. like you. I do think Australia has some promising male players.
I'm pleased the Australian government kicked Novak out of Australia 👍
The rich and famous should not be given special treatment, no jabs then no tennis in Australia 🤗

100% agree Jess. But I have to say Australia, under the Sco Mo govt likes muddying the water. Not such a bad thing.. as it gains us respect.. and probably some criticism. We made the correct decision because now the French Open may also be closed to Joker as the Froggies are taking a similar stance to us.

I hope my government follows suit when it comes to Wimbledon.
Talking of my government, there's a lot of unrest here because when we were put in lockdown BoJo and his mates were partying in Downing Street, there's mounting pressure for him to resign as PM.

Seeing this on our news almost every day for a week with the socialists leading the call for BoJo to stand down. Those pinkos will try anything to throw mud at the ruling government to bring it down.

I hope BoJo is booted out, he should lead by example. Plus his hair is a mess so should be booted out for that reason too :p

Doesn't Boris own a comb. :p You are saying Jess that he knew full well the party was not a workplace do.

England folded pretty meekly on the final day, sums up much of their batting efforts in the series aside from a few exceptions. Australia did bowl well after getting the wicket of Burns and earned just rewards for what has been a pretty good series by them.

No doubt there will be a lot of investigation after this series for England which could see some pretty major changes in both coaching and playing personnel, possibly before the test tour of West Indies in March but certainly afterwards if they decide to leave things as they are in the short-term. The question remains how much change they actually make, they may only make some cosmetic changes but might decide for a proper clean out should they feel the need to.

Was reading that England cricket has been on the slippery slide since 2005. This summer is the culmination of almost two decades of neglect by the ECB. The problem like in all sports.. starts at the grass roots level. English boys and girls simply are not playing cricket. When several thousand young teens were surveyed several years ago a majority said they did not list cricket as their preferred sport. In fact many did not list it among 10 other sports offered in the questionair.
Thank goodness that cricket is still popular here among the young.
