Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

I think it is about time to give an opinion of how the ladder is going to shape. The trick is that i am going to set the ladder based on these posts and preseason talks.

DARLEY (undefeated, sounds like knowone will get near them this year)
WENDOUREE (strong as usual)
NAPS (With the retention of most, will be a force)
POINT (depending on the Moore factor a bit)

East (based on the falling out that has apparently occurred)
B/Redan (jump out of the blocks with a big Skontra preseason, but fall away)
Brown Hill (will look forward to the inclusion of Harwood next year)
North (on the improve with poms and Hammer coming)
Mounties (Everyone written off the raining premiers with a couple leaving)
Coronet (Be lucky to fill 3 sides by the sounds)

I would be happy with that result Don.

Steenholdt to ton up in the final with Cape & Moore sharing the wickets. Pyke & Miller to score solid 50's for wendouree and E "Bar" Johnson to create some very nervous moments.

am i dreaming. i hope this come true.....

How do you categorically no that the BCA wont clear P.Moore?

Is it the 3 completed seasons rule you are basing this on?? Because a completed season in there eyes (and according to the rules of the BCA) is only 4 completed Saturdays makes up a season. Now I know Moore played the last couple of seasons, I'm just not sure how many saturdays he played the year before these. Can you inform us of how many?

None is the answer to your second question. And the answer to your first question is I'm basing my comment on discussions I've had with two BCA executives. He simply will not get cleared. We will knock it back if it comes. Darley would appeal. The BCA will throw out the appeal. It's a done deal.

As you will find, it's not what you know it's who you know. And I know 'em all - very very well.

well what are they going to base their decision on? Rules are rules. The only thing would be the exceptional circumstance clause or financial inducement and what are the exceptional circumstances??

i would have thought he would have played atleast 3 years since juniors even if he missed one year in between.

10.3 GRANTING OF CLEARANCE

10.3.1 When receiving a clearance application that has been officially processed by the Secretary of the Association, any Club receiving such clearance application SHALL grant the clearance requested EXCEPT when:
(a) The player is Unfinancial to the Club and has been placed on the Club’s defaulting player list provided to the Association.
(b) There is good reason to believe that the player requesting the clearance has been offered financial inducement outside that allowed by these Rules. Such clearance refusals shall be investigated by the Pennant Committee.
(c) The player requesting the clearance is under suspension for good reason prior to receipt of the clearance.
(d) The player has not completed the same number of seasons in Senior Cricket as he has played in Junior Cricket with the Club to a maximum of three (3) seasons after completing Junior Cricket. (Pennant Committee records are deemed true and final).
(e) The player has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association or cleared from another BCA Club.
(f) The Club receiving the clearance can justify the retention of the player for his services other than as in Rule 10.3.1 (a) to (e) and only if the Club believes there are exceptional circumstances surrounding the application. In this case the Club shall provide written notification of the exceptional circumstances on the refusal side of the clearance application.

No problem at all but you don't seem to understand.

You'll find the outcome has not been tainted, instead we've had Rule 10.3.1.e) pertaining to the Granting of Clearances explained to us in detail.

As you blokes have pointed out, it reads:

"The player has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association or cleared from another BCA Club."

Pete has played with us for the past two seasons. The year before he was registered in another association and did not play for Point. Therefore he "has not played in 6 days per season in each of the three (3) years with the Club from the date he is registered by the Association" and will therefore not be cleared.

You probably don't want to use this wording in any appeals tribunal will you?
