Hey all

Been reading the posts for a few weeks now but thought it was about time i got myself a user name few things take interest on here and a few things are absolute crap (mainly all things from Pidge) either way its a pretty good forum, i have seen a lot of comments about hammer recruiting heavily to North Ballarat but no names mentioned, does anyone know of any club movements other than those already spoken of?

This is more sad than funny. It would be good if pidge didn't post here becuase of the dribble that she posts but really we are just making fun of somebody who is obviously disabled and in need of some adult supervision. I could tell when i saw her umpire there was something wrong with her. Maybe the administrators should ignore their so called rules and save her some embassment by banning her from the forum.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

A call to any cricketeers thinking of moving to Sunny Geelong, If you are looking for a club on the move then contact St Albans Breakwater Cricket Club which is on the verge of installing a turf wicket this season.

The club has 4 senior sides and 5 junior sides, they play in the BPCA and the firsts were runners up in the grand final last season. Check out their website.

They are a great social club with great facilities, look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association

no mate darley are no good, i'd look elsewhere.....and all rumours about gibba and knowlesy leaving brown hill are incorrect....was told by two brown hill players that ryan and pete have agreed to captain the side again and gibba is gonna play also and are looking forward to the season starting (probably cause Redan are ratshit in footy - season over)......

Holy cow !

So much crap/rumours/innuendo to sift through here.

I'm torn between setting the record straight, and letting it continue to flow. It's definitely funnier letting it flow !

:D

I don't know all, but I know enough :)

Having the level of respect for my own club that I do, I feel that it is inappropriate to announce to the world who we have spoken to and who we haven't - especially this far out from the season. The committee are the only ones privy to that information, and not being on the committee any more, I'm probably out of the loop now anyway.

Also I'm sure the blokes that we have spoken to that have chosen to stay at their current club would respect that we don't make it known that they were entertaining a move.

It is essential that we aim to recruit players every year, even moreso this year given the season we just had. But we're more than happy for the rumour mill to produce proposterous suggestions and keep our real signings to ourselves until The Courier is ready to run a story.

Call bullshit if you like, I/We don't care as we like it that way, and get great entertainment out of who we've supposedly spoken to and/or signed. Any takers on Jason Arnberger ???

Not being on the committee, I can't say.

Thats a pretty weak out, not being part of the cabinet i shouldn't comment on any going ons in politics either but if i hear something i might mention it, how about this then, you know who plays at the club, you know current players 1sts-5ths, who is going to take part in the 1st XI, some new players going to step up? some surprise packets? some kids? whats your theory on the 1st XI maybe even the 2nd XI if you wanna extend the list, couldn't do any worse than the last seasons effort, do you think there should be a lot more experimenting with different players?

Based on what the Rooster is saying can anyone else shed any light here - overheard a North bloke talking to a mate of his and I reckon I heard Trav Faulkhead's name mentioned, not sure whether he's on the market??? but they seemed pretty confident and its sounds like they have more money than sense, other guys mentioned in that little conversation I evesdropped on was Brendan Burns and Matt Wheeler possibly going to North, fair chance of that you'd reckon. Mind you the guy seemed a bit of a nuffy so fair chance he wasn't on the money, but thought it worth floating on hear.

Who's this Paul Clark guy from Melbourne to Napoleons anyway, would he be good enough to replace Faulkhead??? Or is he just an old, has been, that will just coach?

There seems to have been a lot of crap on hear of late, any one got anything to put some of these rumours to bed.

interesting rumour from a geelong person. how do you know of either clark or what is happening in the bca?

Hey Cobber - just back on to see if anyone picked up on me Post - I know of Clark, don't know him well though, I know he's well connected and a bloke. From all reports will add value to the club, as for knowing what happens in Ballarat, well there's a few ex Ballarat people down here mate you pick things up from, the GCA site is crap, so thought we'd give the BCA one a go, seems to be a lot of interest in it - do you play? Out of action myself, done a knee so sitting on my arse doing sweet F/A.

Yes, but if you'd previously been part of the cabinet, and now are not, would you kiss and tell ? That's the situation I'm in.

It's all about being given opportunities, and I think that blokes like Burns, D Pearce and Draffin really came on last year, not to mention D Beaumont, J Pearce and L Grundell who I think are up to it but just need a bit of self-belief. Seb Oliver makes the magoos look easy so expect big things from him once he believes in himself also. Fitzy is playing in England and Gerard said he was going alright when I spoke to him.

A couple years away are the Crouch boys (sons of), Tom McGregor (son of) and Sprigga, if they don't get poached by Melbourne clubs first. There's a lot of good signs provided we stick together, and mix this youth with some old heads. A couple of experienced recruits would round out the list nicely and give the current bunch another year or two and we should be right back in the mix.
