Razza,

Have the rules changed without anyone being told? Of course you can pay players in the BCA. All you need to do is inform the BCA Pennant committee and get their approval.

Steve.
Hmmm .... my humblest apologies. I was always of the belief that only the coach could receive remuneration. Not to say that I wasn't aware of people getting paid ...... just that I thought it was always "under the table". How accommodating are the pennant committee ?

RE: The Crouchs, I think playing in the 3's last year was the right thing to do. I know age is irrelevant with those talented enough, but I would think that at ages 15 and 13, they need to do their apprenticeships first, enjoy their junior cricket first and foremost and not get burnt by getting put too high up too early.

Their 3's stats last year are below:

I think they could do with at least another year in the 3's.

After those comments, Shakes, I would expect Dash to be on the phone straight away!! ... if the call hasnt already been made.

Understand what you are saying about Jarrods batting, had that conversation with him myself. But I think what he thinks we think is actually different to what we do think. I think......

Anyway the loss of those two blokes (or either one of them) would set the club back years!

and from a personal note, sincerely hope it doesnt happen.

i would suggest that a phone call or two has already been made, but like i said Jarrod will not play next year due to a shoulder injury (probably got it raising his elbow for Lexton) and i believe Simon is staying in England over the summer so the Combine have already lost them, at least for this year.

Heard the same thing from Simon the other day shakes but I don't think he would mind me confirming it...

Razza,

To the best of my knowledge, in the last 20 odd years, there is no-one that has been refused to be allowed to play as a proffesional (i.e. receive payment) in the BCA. If anyone knows differently then fire away. There have been quite a few in that time.

Steve.

I'm looking forward to cricket season mate interesting to see how the new coach runs a preseason

My guess is there will be plenty of fitness work included in the preseason. Which I think will be a good thing.

Get Pyke to open up and have good depth in the batting with quality all rounders. With Moore, Ringin, Cape & E "Bar" Johnson you have 4 solid quicks & miller, knowles to bowl some mediums.

Fletcher & appleton to bowl spin and the all austalian country wicket keeper heath pyke to keep - not any other retards.

Tipping this side could do some serious damage off field as well with some good drinking prowess.

thats nice dear....

he can be as sharp as he likes. bowling 13 ball overs is a joke. as for the 100, north have been struggling near the bottom for several seasons, so getting 1 hundred in the comp over the past few seasons, against one of the struggling sides doesnt make you a good bat. he hasnt got any against the top sides, thats what we judge people on around here

Dunno how but you could try to find room for Josh White, Rowdy Scott, Thommo, Nate Yates, Simon Irving.....

You'd have a pretty even game if you put two teams together to play each other.
