Battrick - Season 11 Chat

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I've just gotten a message from my opponent in my FC match and he has to rest players this week due to pfl issues. I was going to play a weakened squad as well but since I'll have 3 front line bowlers going and my best batsmen in (so not that weak :p ) I should win easily. However, he told me it'll be a different story when we meet again after the BT20 break, which is fine because all my first teamers will be back to sublime by then because I really don't care about BT20.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

Getting mauled in my first match, All out for 125 and the opposition are 2/227 in reply, I had a better team than them too! What went wrong?

For the moment keep but look to replace them with better players. I'd start looking for players with at least a competent rating or better still respectable. Maybe look for 2 batsman, 1 W/K Bat and 2 bowlers, if they are 17 then that's ideal.

For example this player was on the market, listed at £0, probably won't go for much more than £10,000. Though his stamina is low, it's not the end of the world as you can often get away with it in the lower divisions. Give him 1xStamina net and 2xBatting (swapping the stamina for a fielding net once he reached Proficient stamina) and you'd have a player worth maybe £4 million by the end of your 3rd season.

Code:
Deepak Masibulele
BT Rating: 2,899
Age: 17 years old
[B]Stamina: woeful [/B]
W/Keeping: worthless
[B]Batting: competent
Concentration: mediocre[/B]
Bowling: woeful
Consistency: worthless
Fielding: woeful

Don't go overboard though as Battrick is a slow burning game and it'll take you a few seasons to get a decent team but you should be able to become competitive in the lowest division without too much trouble.

A bit of time spent on the transfer market can reap massive rewards but do your research.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I went 7-0 in the BT20

Most of my best players stamina is comp+ so they are still at sublime

This is my 3rd full season and i've decided an even spread of players is better than 1 or 2 superstars. I've got 7 players between 10k and 17k ratings, all bar 1 are 19yo or younger.

I lost one BT20 match and if you look at the ratings it makes no sense

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

Don't you hate it when you have a home FC match against a bot... then you lose the toss and have to bowl first. It makes it a real challenge to get gate receipts for all 3 days.

i try to get my matches against bots over in a day. I can deal without the gate receipts

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

I only have about 600k in the bank, at the moment im getting about 45k per day for FC and 115k for OD. I don't know where they get the money to buy superstars for 5mil +

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

A lot of it is a mixture of training up players, transfer trading and so on.

I'm just about getting rid of my 1st XI which will net me a decent stash, then rebuilding.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

In my second FC match ever, the first one I got smashed. I am dominating, the scoreline reads:

Name
Brook- 24
Charvet Jones- 98
Haldane- 110
Hyman- 100*
Cronje- 95
Redding- 0
Qhinibe- 4*

We are 5/489 after the first day.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat

At this stage it looks as though I'll be able to push my FC game against the bot into day 3.

I bowled them out for 11 in 13 overs and am currently 2/718

I've been playing since season 1, joined a few days into the first season so I missed the first round of cup matches. I've made two big splashes in the transfer market, one for a batsmen when I promoted from III to II and then this past off-season for a bowler. Other then that my guys have been home grown, except for T Rose. Got him for a bargin when right before he turned 18 and trained him up myself. The rest of my best players (Wild, Coetzer, Olivier, and Butcher) were all pulled from my academy. I've got about 2 million in the bank right now and am just going to save up for another stud which will take a few seasons. I may buy a new trainee next season if I don't pull a good one.

damn that's good, the best i've got is 2 bowlers with 'superb' and 2 batsmen with 'strong'
I got lucky with a youth pull. he was high proficient, so he popped to strong within one week of being pulled. Was on 3 sessions until he was 19 and has been on 2 ever since (he's now 21). He just got called up to the Windies NT and should make his debut against NZ tomorrow. Hope he can get a NT century because he batted 7 innings for the U19s with an average just over 50 and a high score of 96*. He was so close to a century!
