Best Captain in the APS

Who is the best captain in the APS? Not only in personal results and statistics this year but who is the best at bringing about the wicket with a bowling change or field placement? Chancellor from Carey whilst not being a good role model is certainly the best strategic Captain i have come across this year closely followed by Consi and Kitchen, wha are everyones thoughts on their own captains?

Re: Best Captain in the APS

Can't go past big matty grose, leads by example, bowls good, long, consistent spells and fields like a man possessed, good leader and good bloke.....chancellor from carey is a ********in funny ******** but i reckon considine is best ive seen strategically

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
MR CAREY is about to cut sick on the medeator for closing his thread about the 'TOOL of 08'. its the final straw, too much control of these forums is ********ting me, so this could very well be the last post i ever make.

in case i dont see u again id just like to say i dont like Carey. Yoe bowls slowly, chancellor is overated. further more, Geelong Grammer are the worst APS side in the comp, i quote myself...''the point givers of the competition", if u can be ********ed then u should really cash in.

btw i go to wesley, so there u go pupisgod.

Well i have my fingers crossed ... anyone else ?

Re: Best Captain in the APS

Aren't you also a speciallist batsmen because you ********ed your back bowling pies. Dont you also say, 'i'm the runs giver of the competition'. (You did say cash in)

Re: Best Captain in the APS

His tool of 08 thread was comical, apart from that he starts too much sht on the forums, he thinks hes a hardnut.

Re: Best Captain in the APS

But he is a hardnut. I wouldnt want to get on the end of one of his throws. That's why he always fields at fine leg. Captain has no idea what to do with him

hey snoop, dont be a ********en racist, some people on these forums may find it very offensive.
Zapper, mr carey is one of the best fielders goin around, a spectator commented on it to me on saturday about how good a fielder he is and he was the fastest bowler at wesley before his back got ********ed, unlucky he hasent shown his best form this season due to injury.

Re: Best Captain in the APS

mr carey is probs the best batter in the aps cause hes so awesome they had to drop him to the 2nds. Is it cause hes terrible or is it he wanted his free feed coming back from geelong?

Re: Best Captain in the APS

strategically, I though Dan Wolfe (although not official captain, but Grose had to run everything past him before he made a field change) was very good. Was very sharp, and managed to see the zones a batsman wanted to hit, and liked to score in, and cut these off. Especially, could provoke a get-out shot through a clever and not too-overt field setting - hallmark of a good capitano. Despite this, didn't have an answer to Richard Thomas' antics - who hit balls to places you just cant set fields. But clearly and intelligent kid. Kudos to you.

Having said that, witnessing his bowling and first-innings batting dismissal, it would be fair to say first XI cricket is not particularly important for him at current, or put simply - does not give a ********. To be fair though, why would you? all his mates from yr12 have left, he has done his duty in prior years and would be the end of a very long year for him.

His partying with sammy dunnel until 3 on wednesday morning also earns him extra kudos - this is particularly surprising as it seems sammy has found someone who he doesn't think is a complete toooooeeewwwlll (tool).

Dunnel's batting has been sub-standard this year - clearly the apprentice scheme didn't work out for grammar well - 3 knocks, 1 run at an average of 0.33 before being erradicated from MGS cricket after turning up to a summer holiday praccy game under the influence of a supreme amount of alcohol - kudos to you sammy. Lachy Gooley should captain MGS next year after emotionally breaking the news after the game that he will undertake an apprentice scheme (ala sam) where he will work at his father's cardboard-box factory and take 3 subjects. Moreover, it is TRUE that Keath is going to the AIS next year - not for softball, of course, but for basketball - he is a seriously good player. will also seek anger management classes whilst there, and attempt to seek solitude from taunts of V-Line voyage.
